Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I have a 2009 tenth anniversary edition Montana 3605R. My fireplace does not work on high. It does fine with lights only and low heat but as soon as we attempt to go to high heat it cuts off the heat altogether with just lights.
Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how did you solve it?
Never had that problem, but had a different one and called Dimplex directly and they were very helpful. You could try that. Aren't their fireplaces great?
We Love our Dimplex. It has taken the chill out of the air on these cool North Carolina mornings. We have not had to use our furnace yet.Sounds like the fan switch is bad.

RVing probably not a reality any more.It was a good time while it lasted.
Our Montana is same year/anniversary edition but a 3585SA.
We had the same problem and we had our fireplace replaced earlier this year. Unit is under factory warranty, so it was no problem.
Yep, sounds like the fan; that's what ours was and we were told you cannot just replace the fan as it is all one unit.
Good luck!
Betty

Thanks to all of you. We called Dimplex this morning and we have a part coming for free even though our fireplace is out of warranty. You see, the problem has been there since it was new even though we didn't buy it until earlier this year (2 years old). Guess the first owners never used the fireplace, at least not on high anyway.
There are not enough vents in the bottom of our particular model so they will be sending a new bottom but while they were checking on this problem, they also discovered another problem which was with the fan. As soon as the heat cuts off so does the fan and the fan should keep running to cool it down. So, they have a fix for that which should be in stock in about 2 weeks. They will be sending a technician out to make both repairs at the same time.
I knew I sure was disappointed in that fireplace after hearing everyone brag about how much they liked theirs. Maybe I'll like mine to when I have high heat.
We had the very same problem with our unit in our Montana. We called, they sent out new one ASAP. They were great to deal with. Now, if only our dealer were as good with their service.
