Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are sitting our sights for December or Jan. 2011. Hubby, son and I are planning to give fulltiming 1 year to see if it works out for us. Steve (hubby) is a former farmer and currently a truck driver. I am disabled and currently homeschooling our 11 year old (Ryan). I can't wait to get out of Illinois and head south for the winter, then we plan on seeing as much of the country as we can. I want Ryan to grow up seeing this country instead of just reading about it. We are biginners so we know nothing. I have been lurking in the background for some time and have been reading some the older posts and love this site. So informative. Forgive me if I ask seemingly stupid ?'s. I have a lot to learn. We do not have a motor home yet but are looking.
Welcome to the RV Dreams forums. Since you said that you've been lurking for a while, you are aware of the friendly folks here. And, since we tend to begin to learn about people from their posts, I guess it is easy to say we are a widespread and diverse family of like-minded people.
Never let a question go unasked. If you don't ask it, you lose the opportunity to learn AND help someone else learn as well. As newbies, we sometimes don't even know what questions to ask. Besides, each question, even though nearly a repeat of another question, might have a slightly different perspective within it.
So, ask away and feel free to add our own comments to other folks' questions. Every chance to learn is good for us all.
Terry

Welcome! And hey, we all start somewhere so don't worry. We were all beginners at one time!
A suggestion that I've found helpful -- when I have a question, first I type something related in the search box and see what turns up. Often my question gets answered. Sometimes I just learn some other interesting stuff and get a better sense of where to ask my question. Either way it's helpful.
Btw, your goal for a fulltime date is similar to ours...

Welcome. I'm another newbie and beginner. We're at the end of our homeschooling journey with a 16 year old studying for a GED, but he wants to travel too. However, he's talking about Europe! Alone! So we're shooting for about 3-5 years from now once he's back from his trip to Europe and decides where he's going to settle down.
Keep looking and learning all you can. I learn something new every day and I'm looking forward to buying the rig. We're looking at fifth wheels and a truck.
Wow. Europe! I can't wait to see this country. I would like to do some traveling in Canada but hubby says noway. Who knows, maybe he will love it so much that he won't want to stop?
