Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Well it didn't take us long. We brought the DP home last weekend and took off this weekend with friends and family in tow. Overall we had a great time. But I do have a question: When you are driving on the interstate and see the "No Trucks Left Lane" signs, how does it apply to RV's? Is a 40' DP allowed in the left lane? Not that I ever needed to or even thought about it as I was happy driving 67-68 in the right hand lane. But for future reference, does anyone know how that restriction applies to large RV's?
Thanks

Wih all due respect to Fred, that sign generally applies to commercial vehicles. To be on the safe side, however, you may want to check with individual states.

I think you can't go wrong obeying the signs for trucks. You're nearly as big as those 18-wheelers, so what's good for the goose is good for the gander. Safer too!

I seem to remember some folks traveling in a MH in OH (I think) getting a ticket for not following the truck speed limit signs. Each state is different but when there are truck speeds posted, we follow them. Better safe than sorry...and we aren't speed demons anyway. Stopping a 20k rig quickly can be a challenge...LOL!
I just discovered another reason to stay with the trucks! We were headed West toward Houston today. Those darn "love bugs" are showing up splattered all over the front end. When a truck passed me and merged in front.....no more bugs. He was clearing the way...LOL
