Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Need to post this here, and in the general forum. It shows how your brain can get addled when thinking too much about getting into RVing ...
Jo and I were out looking at camping sites and checking up on available amenities and how other campers cope when they pull in with an RV. We also looked at adjacent boondocking sites where you have to be able to survive just with what you bring in. Jo said:
“We can’t stay here. There’s no electrical hookup to power the generator!”
Now, tell me. Did I make the right decision 5 years ago to be with her … or not?
Donations and prayers welcome.
Paul

We were sitting by the campfire and my DW asked if there were bears where we were camping in the Sequoia National Park.
I said yes, that's why the trash cans have those funny lids.
I looked over at her and there was a big brown bear sitting right next to her. It was as if the bear was there saying to her "Umm... DUH !"
OK, Bear. That one certainly tops my "bear" story. But, as they say on another forum I frequent, "If there ain't no video, it didn't happen." But, I can't provide video either. My story was down a ways.)
My bear story, on last years trip to Alaska we saw them everwhere. One was eating the flowers on the road shoulder and I was stopped to take a pic, this was early in the trip. Anyway he was not looking at us and kept eating. I told my wife that I would call his name and get him to look at us. I called out "HEBERT" for the uninitiated, in S Louisiana that is pronounced "A BEAR". He did and I got the pic.
Our Bear - We live in the woods in western NY. This spring the DW was setting by the front windows of our house. She looked up from the paper and started saying bear bear bear. I thought the dog had piddled on the floor again (he was having medical issues) because his name was bear. I asked her what'd he do now? She say NO bear bear bear, and points out the windows. There's a 400+lb bear standing up at the front of the deck looking thru the deck spindles about 14' from the windows. We have 2-3 that are around each spring looking for anything to eat that they can find.
