Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

More counter space

While our Rig is Big, our counter tops are not. I had this cabinet side wall, when the slide comes in i have 3.5" of space to work with. I found these low profile drop down brackets, and used a solid surface counter that matches the existing tops, this little top has literally doubled our kitchen work space. This is easy to do, if you have a spot, and you probably do, this is a great improvement, G

That's a great idea, Gene. With the new space, you could almost park your Smart Car on it. :c)

How did you manage to match the exisiting countertop?

Best Regards!

Thanks Paul, my original invoice had the counter top brand and color noted, i then cross referenced it to a brand that i had available through my suppliers. My brackets can only support 300 lbs, almost enough for the Smart car but not quite biggrin. Hope you are well, see you soon, G

I did something similar with a bamboo cutting board & some drop shelf brackets from Harbor Freight. Not a huge increase, but very welcome.

Nice use of dead space. Counter space is at a premium in the RVs.

We use one of these:

It folds up and stores out of the way when not in use.

Great use of space, Gene & it looks super too!  In an RV you can never get enough counter space!

Nice addition Gene. Also like the portable cart. Great ideas to help me see possibilities in the coaches we are looking at.

Okay, Gene, I am interested in seeing yuour addition also, but the images are gone. I don't know how I missed this, but it's only been on here a little over a week. Where did your pictures go, and can I see them somehow?

It was just this morning that he commented about having shuffled things around and that he would repost. He probably just hasn't been able to get to it yet. I imagine he will just repost new copies/links down here rather than trying to trying to get the old links to locate the new positions of the files. I just assumed that, anyway. I could be mistaken. Just seems easier to me.

Ikea offers a "drop table" similar to this that I have been thinking about.  It's about $30.  Not nearly as nice as yours (which is beautiful, btw) as it is wood, instead of solid surface.
