Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Entertaining the Dream

Hello! I have always dreamed of this lifestyle, and thanks to the economy stinking so badly and my sweet husband not being able to find a job in our hometown, we have decided to hit the road. I am an RN, so we are thinking of taking travel assignemnts around the country and living in an RV, I apologize in advance for the myriad of dumb questions I will probably be asking, and thank you all for your sage advice.

WooHoo!smile

Jamie,

Welcome to the RV Dreams forum.  If you have been lurking for a while before actually signing up to post, then you know that there are a lot of knowledgable and friendly people here.  Feel free to ask your questions.  Everyone has to be a newbie at one time or another.

As for me, I'm 64 years old and have been camping in one form or another ever since I was a kid.  My folks' first "camper" was something called a "Kwik Kamp" that was basically a box where the top part of the box hinged over to become the floor and then a canvas top and sides were raised.  The bottom of the camper "box" then became the bed.

Those were such a long time ago that I can't even find pictures of one of them now.  But the point of this whole lengthy statement is to say that we are all still learning.  Remember, there are no stupid questions......just smart alecky answers.

Terry

Sounds like a great dream, desertnurse. Welcome to the forum. There's lots of info that can be had here by just reading, but usually someone will be glad to provide a knowledgeable answer if you just ask. We are not full-timers yet, but working our way towards that dream.

Welcome Jamie!

Still in the planning stages here and will be for a few years yet until the kids get out of college and the DW and I can retire. Plenty of time to slowly learn.

The folks here are very nice and very helpful. If you have a question, do a little research in the threads to see if the topic has already been broached (it probably has). However, if it's something that you just can't find or something unique, ask away! The folks here usually have an answer or can point you in the right direction.

Looking at:

However, there is still time to change the configuration, just a plan.

Welcome,  there are no dumb questions.  Rving is a lot of fun and a little knowledge makes it easier.  It is great that you have the opportunity to live the dream even while working.  Some of us have to wait a little while longer.

Ditto what she said.  It is great that you have income on the road.  You'll find that these are the nicest most knowledgeable and friendly people in the on-line RV community.  They never make you feel that any question is a dumb one and believe me I should know.  They have answers for everything.

Welcome aboard RV-Dreams, you're gonna love it!
