Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Our Montana Needs Tweaking

A week into full-timing and here's what we've got regarding fine-tuning our rig.

*  Leak at base of kitchen faucet.
*  Landing gear inline fuse blowing.  Has happened on at least 3 occasions we remember.
*  Black tank valve will not close all the way.
*  Seal on big slide is sliced due to hitting rough edge on trailer when it opens and closes.  Other LR slide has some wear on the seal but not sliced...yet.
*  Front decal peeling and looks like has been replaced already at one time previously.

Minor tweaks in comparison to what could be happening.  Talked with dealer where we bought it this morning.  Decals are in.  They will have to keep the rig for a day or two and we will have to get a hotel.  We will roll in there on the 13th for them to start work.  We have to be in Wisconsin to start work on August 1.

Gotta say, they did order and get the decals.  Talked with service manager today who gave me some options for emptying black and grey tanks.  We also talked about the fuse blowing in the landing gear and he pretty much knows how to remedy that.

In summary, these are in our opinion minor tweaks and things one finds on a shake-down cruise...which is what we are in, living in it now for a little over a week.  Overall, we are pleased with our Montana and lovin' being able to come home after a 12-hour work day, really relax and sleep like dogs.

Stress, yes, with these issues; however, it is stress over which we have some control.

Life is good!

I think we all have to do minor tweaks to our rigs. With our Cedar Creek we were less than thrilled with the cleanup after being built and when it arrived at dealer.Spent two days vacuming sawdust from nooks and crannys, fixing loose kitchen faucet,re applying loose trim pieces.Irritating but minor in my book.Over all we are very happy and Iam sure you will be with your Montana.

We have been living fulltime in our 2009 Montana now for 15 months. There were a few small issues that the dealer took care off immediately. Yea, same dealer we are having problems with now.

Still, Montana's are good rigs. Hope all issues are small.

Would it not be nice to buy something that was dependable, no problems and at a reasonable cost? I think the days of dependable high quality are behind us.
