Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Ocracoke

Has anyone camped on Ocracoke Island, NC. There are 3 campgrounds there, Teeters, Beachcomber and a State Park. Only draw back to the State Park is no electricity, and it will be too hot for me without a/c. confuse Reviews I have seen on Teeters and Beachcomber are not too good.

This spring, we stayed at the Cape Hatteras National Seashore park on Ocracoke. It has water and electric at each site and there is a dump station.

No shade, but most sites were level and paved. With my Golden Age discount it was only $11.50 per night.

Used it for a base and took our pickup to see the sights.

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought it might be a new CocaCola flavor for us Southerners - Ocra-Coke, Yum! I had some fried ocra for lunch today. If I could have only washed it down with a slightly viscous and fuzzy beverage with a similar taste! ;)

I lived in western NC and am familiar with the campgrounds there, but I can't help you with coastal NC CGs.

Yeah I live in western NC also. I do love the outer banks, especially Ocracoke. I am only finding the 3 campgrounds on Ocracoke. Jim are you sure that the campground you mentioned is not Frisco Woods on Hatteras Island instead of Ocracoke. If it is indeed on Ocracoke I would appreciate any information you have on it. Thanks

I'm Bad!!! cry

We did stay at the Cape Hatteras National Seashore / Ocracoke Campground that is 5 miles East of Ocracoke on Ocracoke Island, but it is dry camping with a dump station across the road from the CG.

In my records, I had it down as having water and elec. but by checking photos that I took while there, I see that there were no hookups.

Sorry for the confusion.

Jim
