Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Electric Fry Pan

We are in final prepartaiton to leave on thursday for an extended trip, plan to return in November.
I am not a cook but THE WIFE is, what is the consensus on whether or not to take an electric fry pan? Would one use it often enough to take it?

We have been traveling on our boat and did not use it as we anchored out most of the time with no 110v, so we used gas to cook.

Hope to boon dock a lot but will use st and nat parks a lot.

If she used it a lot at home take it with you.If not, don't. We use the same cooking utensils on the road that we did when we had a stix and brix.

Hey Charles,

We have an electric griddle, frypan, and the small electric oven/toaster onboard. Use them all the time at our campground. Saves on the propane and the power is free while we're there.

Regards, Howard

We use our electric frying pan all the time.  Wouldn't be without it.  We often use it to cook outside to avoid mess inside.  Things like bacon, ground beef, etc that tend to splatter or are greasy work much better outside and save lots of cleaning headaches.
Have a great trip!

My Mom used an electric skillet w/lid in our travel trailer when I was a kid.  I distinctly remember it "living" in the trailer and her using it frequently when we were camping/traveling.

Would you believe I used it quite often in the house and now it is on the road with us!
