Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Got away from the facility yesterday afternoon and made the trip safe and sound to Berry Springs RV Park in Georgetown TX. Naturally, in the peak time of heat and humidity of the day.
Briefly, a few of insights in less than 24 hours of our new lifestyle:
1) I am about ready to toss out at least half of what I see around me! If not, perhaps I can find nooks and crannies for the stuff like laundry detergent, etc. Give me a day or two to figure this out. Really do not want to be cluttered. Of course, our "day off" yesterday was, as usual, interrupted by having to resolve some issues in the office, so the last-minute stuff was just almost literally tossed in the rig.
2) Yes, the basement must be rearranged! That was a given. Gotta have those tubs we need on arrival in front of some other stuff so we can get to the hoses, etc. better. We probably will not need our Scotland suitcases anytime soon.
3) When walking your Lhasa Apso mix doggie in the morning dew, do not...I repeat do not...allow her to walk on the gravel, calichie stuff. This results in a humorous task of cleaning / washing her feet first freakin' thing in the morning after two very long previous days of getting ready...long nights / early mornings. I bet our neighbors had a good giggle watching this process. At least some of the burrs came out easily when washing.
4) We sat out in the evening and folks waved and/or stopped by to visit. Took a walk on the nature trail last evening with Maggie. Maggie met 3 doggie buddies and socialized very, very well (it was even too cute to mention here).
5) Dang, it sure feels good !!!!!

Congradulations, now for fine tuning the stuff. We were in Temple TX last week visiting son and family. Did some boating and fishing on Lake Belton. They have a nice COE campground there we checked out last winter.
You'll find a place for all the necessary "stuff" and then in about a year, throw half of it away.
Enjoy,
Jim

Use one of those tubs in the basement for your laundry stuff. I have a tub for fresh water stuff, another for black water stuff. There's two for outside BBQ, cooking and table cloths, etc. One for electrical cords, Sat dish cables, DVD & stereo cables(extras).. Etc, Etc.........

Naw!!!! I don't think ever ends. Just this winter, I pulled everything out of the basement of our MH and completely rearrange it again!!
We've been full-timing for over nine years now, and still don't have it right!

Well I'm turning a serious shade of deep GREEN and saying CONGRATULATIONS! Can't wait to have rearranging my basement be a fun concern of mine.
My count down clock says 76 days 1 hour 12 minutes and 48 seconds until I work my last minute, jump off the cliff and sprout those wings everybody talks about.

The organizing gave me a chuckle as we are in the same position. I remind myself that it took me 13 years in the S&B to get everything where I wanted it and then we sold it and I had to start over - oh my, I don't think it ever really ends.

Congrats! I would love to need to reorganize the basement of my "full-Time" rig. It will be quite some time before we get started (unless I have some long lost wealthy uncle or something). Have fun and enjoy the ride!
