Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Franklin, North Carolina

We will be heading out on vacation in a few weeks to meet up with some family in Franklin.  We thought we would ask and see if any one had any good campgrounds to recommend.  Also we would love any suggestions of activites in the area.  We will be there the first week of July.  Thanks in advance

John and Terri

Read the reviews!!  I haven't been to any of the above campgrounds but after the experience PostalPair (Stawberry Park) had I will be reading all reviews before I make reservations @ any campground.  Good luck! Ya'll have fun and HAPPY CAMPING.

We have stayed at Cullasaja River Rv park.  Nice park....if I remember correctly it is a Passport America.  50amp, big rig friendly....really convenient to some of the nicer waterfalls in that area.  You are headed right into some of the prettiest waterfalls in the southeast.  Take the time to go and see some of them....especially since they had a rough winter, so lots of water running off the mountains.
Hope you have a wonderful trip.....North Carolina has always been a favorite of ours.  Also, if you are motorcyclist.....some of the nicest, winding roads around.

When you get to Franklin, check out Great Outdoors RV Resort.

They sent us an email hoping we might do a campground review or a rally there.  So we're interested in seeing what some RV-Dreamers think.  smile

Thanks for the suggestions, we are going to stay at the Pines RV park.  We don't plan on spending a lot of time in the Park.  We plan on doing some white water rafting and some hiking to many different water falls.  We also hope to do some mild kayaking.  We really are looking forward to it.

Howard, we will check out the Great Outdoors RV Resort and give you an opinion when we get back.  I know that I would love to attend a Rally in Franklin, NC.  That area is so nice.

We just finished volunteering at Tallulah Gorge State Park - check out our blog for articles on some of the things we saw and did while in the area. We were there in May of this year.  It's about 30 miles south of Franklin. The whole area is absolutely beautiful, you should enjoy your stay.

 Thanks Darrell and Judy

We have been to Tallulah Gorge and loved it.  We have never made it to the bottom of the gorge and I didn't even know that there was a suspension bridge.  We may have to volunteer there some day once we hit the road.  How did you get the position if I may ask?

I read your blog and enjoyed it.  Sounds like you had a great time there. Thanks Again and stay safe

John and Terri

My DW and I stayed at Rose Creek CG a couple years ago. MY DW loved it! There's a gem mine on the property and we found some very nice emeralds and rubies - a few were jem quality.

They honored our $10/night camp club membership in Recreation USA, so it was a cheap stay too. The mining was well worth the nominal cost as well. We loved the strong, hot shower and the hosts were super nice and friendly. Fellow campers were very friendly too, sharing their jem mining stories and showing a few treasured finds between smores around a welcoming campfire -a neighborly place to stay.

We'll definitely stay there again!

Howard,

We check this campground out like you asked.  First impression, not to bad.  Little small for a Rally in my opinion.  I shot you an e-mail with some info and have more if you want.  Let me know.
