Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Xpress Ready set go

I'm thinking of ordering this.  I googled what appear to be unbiased good reviews.  Has anyone bought one and how do you like it?

I'm always pretty sceptical of anything that says "as seen on tv" and will send you a second one free. Most of that stuff never works as advertised.JMO.

I did purchase the ReadySetGo and have been using it for a couple of weeks.  I mainly got it because I can cook small amounts in a short time.  One thing that I notice is that you do have to use a bit of oil ( I also use PAM) otherwise things tend to stick to both top and bottom.  Other than that I am pleased with it.  I gave the other one to my daughter.  I haven't really followed many of the recipes, just doin' my own thing, although tonight I'm going to try the pineapple upside down cake using a Jiffymix cake.
If you get it I hope that it works out for you.

I have one, works well for quick meal, sandwiches--eggs, the pre-cooked bacon does well in it. Its not going to replace your grill/stove or anything but it works. It heats up fast cleans easy, for one or two people I think its fine.

Racerguy - I tend to be skeptical of those things also, which is why I googled.

Thanks everyone else for your opinions.  I think I am going to go ahead and order it.  I'm looking for something I can make quick egg breakfasts in and some quick sandwiches that I don't have to clean up a whole big pan and the stove top.  Also, don't think I'll be able to resist the cookie recipes.

I'll let you know in a few months what recipes I've tried and what works well.

Ok, here is the update....first recipe I tried out of the box was the steak with mushrooms and onions (sans the mushrooms, i'm allergic).  At 7 minutes it was too long for rib eyes and some of the onions were burnt.  Also during the cooking time of the 2nd steak, the timer broke.  Sooooo, i am sending it back.  Not as large as I thought it would be either.
Haven't tried any other recipes, since the timer is broken....and since the timer was broken....I looked underneath it and it seems to have been attached by super glue?  Not for sure, since it was broken off.
So, that's it for my latest foray into the infomercial market.

Hi Doris,

I'm sorry that it didn't work out for you.  Are you requesting that they replace it?  I had an issue with not getting my order.  I called and let them know and they resent it and refunded my shipping too.

I still use mine a lot, several times a week.  The Pineapple Upside Down Cake turned out good, actually two small ones.  I use a small corn tortilla as pizza crust add different toppings and cheese, very good, also made mini chocolate cakes.

Good luck if you get another one.

Susan,
I did call and ask to return and refund and they are sending me a new one.  I will try somemore...maybe I just got a lemon with the timer breaking on the first try.
Yes, the pineapple cake looks good, so that will be one I try real soon.  Also want to try some egg dishes.
Have you purchased any of the extra pans?

Doris

Doris,

I haven't purchased any of the other pans.  If I did, it would be the one  that doesn't have the divider, but probably won't.  When I did the cake, after turning the unit off and unplugging it,  I just put a plate over the cake upside down and carefully flipped it over.  A bit tricky, but it worked for me. BTW,  Only let it cool down enough to handle with potholders, with the brown sugar, if it cools down too much, it might stick.
I still haven't the timing down yet as I rarely follow one of their recipes.  I have done eggs, etc., but I usually make omelets  with a 7 in. omelet pan.  (My son the chef taught me how to flip them [fun to do]).
I  have found that the JIFFY brand works well for one or two people.  Most grocery stores have biscuit and cornbread mixes, but I get the cake and brownie mixes at WINCO.  I'm  in Sacramento CA, so I'm not sure what resources you might have.  I actually used the chocolate cake mix to make 3 or 4 large cookies similar to the "cookizza", adding semi-sweet chocolate chips and walnuts. (Recipe on the package.)  They all turned out very good.I made the cookie dough, divided it into four cookies and froze them in parchment paper, then cooked them later one at a time for a treat later.

As you can tell I really like using mine because it's perfect for one person and is quick with little clean up.

Hope that you will enjoy it as much as I do.

Susan
