Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Well, after several months of reading and enjoying multiple blogs, I have taken the next step and started my own. I actually started it a couple weeks ago, but I had to work my way up to putting it out there for public viewing! LOL It's sorta kinda an RV blog, because ummm, well - we don't actually have an RV yet - but we plan to! It's just a few years down the road. So right now, its a planning for the journey type of blog!! If anyone is interested in following our road to the adventure, I added the link in my signature.... (but keep in mind it's still a work in progress - I'm still putting it together!) :)
Nice blog! Don't feel funny having a blog before you get an RV. I started one too, we're two years out yet. I think it's great to have a blog, only for the fact that it's a written (and visual!) road map to the life we're all wanting. All our friends and family that want to, can keep up with where we are in the 'steps' that we have to take.
Jessica,it's never to early to start planning. It gives you something to look forward to.The blog will be a nice addition that will both help you and others.Good luck

RVing probably not a reality any more.It was a good time while it lasted.
Thanks! I hesitated at first to start a blog because I wondered if there was enough going on in our lives to keep up the writing on a somewhat daily basis. But I've found that I'm not having any trouble with that (so far anyway). Now I have to start remembering to bring my camera with me when we go places.
I was just talking to my DH about how long its been now since we started making these plans, and we figured out that it was about a year and a half ago that we first started thinking about RVing and fulltiming. Actually back then we thought we were thinking of doing something unusual and radical, and had no idea that there were so many people out there already living this life! I've learned so much in the past months, and look forward to everything else there is to find out!!
I, too, started before we hit the road, although it was only a few months. I believe you'll find the blogging helps you clear your head at times.
I've read some of your blog, and think you guys are taking many steps in the right direction. Believe me, the more you get done now, the happier you will be later
Fixing up your house to sell and getting rid of clutter or stuff you no longer need is a liberating feeling!
I look forward to reading about your journey!

Thanks for sharing your blog with us. It is never too early to record your thoughts and feelings as you begin to enter this lifestyle. There are tons of things to do and this will give you a great journal of your progress. It is also a great way to meet new friends in the RV community....begin those life-long friendships! Your blog looks great and I look forward to following your progess to full-timing. :)
