Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Ready to be gone

Hello all,

My name is Chris and my wife’s name is Lori. We have been working towards fulltiming for about 2 years now. The only thing holding us (like many others) is the sale of my late mother’s house and our own. We have been reading the journal for a little of a year now. The wife and I have different approaches to it. She started at the beginning and is up to 2007, I read the past year (when I started) to current and have went back to the beginning to see what I missed. I keep hearing about all the great people here and figured it was high time I joined this great group. I hope to get a lot of info and make a lot of new friends. It's great to finally lose my lurker status lol.

Chris

Thanks for the welcome Racerguy. I am looking forward to learning, participating and hopefully contributing. I am an auto mechanic by trade so I hope to be able to give at least a little info for all the great info I get.

Likewise, we are waiting also. Just waiting on the house to sale and then work out my "job" notice. We have the 5er set up in a little gravel campground about 3 miles from our house and go out there often to dream. It's always hard to come back to the S & B.

Age is not on our side but we are really anxious to get out there before it is too late for us.

Thank you all for the welcome. Sorry I haven't been on in almost a week, We are headed for Texas a week from Monday and there is lots to be done, work is really getting in the way of the important stuff :). Even though our TT is only a year old (well it's a 2008 but we bought it new last July) I have been working on a few mods to make it kid friendly (we will have 2 4 yr old grandkids staying with us part of the time) and doing lots of maintance (don't really trust the factory). We are so ready for our vacation with the kids and grandkids.

Oh if anyone out there is a real estate agent in east Texas we are looking for a small piece of property in the Canton area to call a home base when we go on the road :).

Thanks again everyone, I am looking forward to spending more Time reading the forum.

Welcome Chris & Lori. Love that name wannabegone! I don't get on here often enough, but wanted to welcome you to a great group. We, too, are planning to full-time, but have a long way to go to get things figured out as far as my medical problems. I am with you on wanting to get on with the NEW LIFE!!

Check in often (as I need to get better about), and let us know how you're doing.
