Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
With Memorial Day coming up, I just want to say thank you to all of you current and former service men and women out there.
I myself served four years in the United States Marine Band in Washington D.C. from 1968 to 1972, so I've never considered myself in the same ranks as those of you who have actually seen combat, been in harm's way, and put your lives on the line for our country. I was safe; you were not, and the traveling Vietnam War Memorial is here in Columbus at Fort Benning right now to remind me of that.
I say God bless you, and thank you. As far as I am concerned this Memorial Day, and all those in the future for as long as I live, are for honoring you.
On this occasion, I do not mind being a fourth or whatever number. I extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to all who are now serving or who have ever served. Freedom is not free!
My 5'x7' U.S. Flag is out front all of this weekend with a light at night. I am proud to have served my country, albeit during peace time 1959-1964.
God Bless America!

"Each of us must take part in making this a better world for all people."
Sadly, in this day and age of "political correctness", we get to hear of veterans who are told they cannot fly their American flag in the housing community within which they live.
However, there is a new spirit in the land and those "housing communities" are beginning to experience it. A Minnesota veteran was the latest and his "community" received a LOT of phone calls from Americans and they reversed their ruling.
Military service is strong within my family, with my grandfather serving during WWI and all my dad's brothers serving in the Navy during WWII. (I sure got a lot of kidding when I joined the Army in 1966.)
Let us all remember that Memorial day is not just about having an extra day off, or a trip to the lake, but that the freedoms that we are so richly blessed with came at the price of lives and service of people who love America.
I wish to extend my thanks to my fellow veterans, both living and dead, for their love of this country. Also, a special thanks to those families who have been or are a part of a military family. The sacrifices that you have made are overlooked and forgotten so much.
God Bless you all.
Terry

I was unable to serve but I would like to thank all you who did and do. One of the proudest moments I have had in my life was at the DFW airport when a group of Soldiers came off a plane and people starting applauding and it went on as they walked through the airport. It was all a spontaneous standing ovation.

My grandfather emigrated to this country and served in WW1, my Dad served in both the Marines and the Navy, my stepfater served in the RCAF, I lost lots of friends in Viet Nam, my SIL served in Desert Sword, my husband was Air Force.
Memorial Day always makes me think of all of the men and women who have served to protect our country and defend freedom around the world. I am so grateful and proud to be an American.

Sorry I haven't been on here for a few days, but I wanted to also thank all those who are serving and those who have previously served. A heartfelt thanks to them and their families for their daily sacrifices. I pray for those serving, and their families, each and every day.
