Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are a professional entertainment duo that performs 4 nights a week on Florida's west coast. We perform for any age group, but our current audience are mainly active over 50 year olds, that like to dance and listen to an array of music, from old to new. We have done gigs at local RV parks, so we know that there is a market for entertainment in RV parks across the country.
We will be taking our performance on the road full time starting in 2011. We are currently going through the process of getting rid of the house, buying our first 5th and diesel pick up. We have been planning for about a year, and now we will be taking the next year to get rid of our stuff, make our purchases and plan our trips.
I am asking if anyone knows of any RV camps or resorts that have rec halls and provide entertainment, and will use entertainers involved in workamping. We would be willing to do one performance in return for FHU sites, or work something else out.
I am currently going through tedious task of going through campground directories to locate any leads. But I would hope that this post will generate some leads as well. If posting names of parks on here violates the rules, then please PM me. Same goes if you want info on our performance and web site.
Our plan A is to start in Florida and head up the Eastern seaboard part of the U.S. in the spring and summer of 2011 and end in Massachusetts where we have family and spend time there, then return South heading toward the Southwestern states for the winter of 2011.
Welcome to RVdreams, your plan sounds solid. We recently had a Rally in Willow Tree Rv Resort in South Carolina, it had a big wreck hall that would have been great for music. You might want to build a Website, it would help you market yourself and your music, Gene
We have stayed in many RV parks that have entertainment, but I am not aware of any that had the same entertainers for more than an occasional "gig." We have seen the same entertainers several times over the years performing in different parks in different parts of the country. Some groups seem to go to FL in the fall, then Texas Jan and Feb and AZ in March or something like that...or one year in each area. Many parks have an "Activity Director" who books all the entertainment and that is often done a year in advance with CDs and/or videos used for "auditions." I know that several years ago a friend of mine was an AD in a TX valley park and there was an organization of people like her who booked groups together. The park I volunteer with now in AZ sometimes uses a "booking agent" for some of their nights, but does others independently (and sometimes gives a site rental as part of the deal). Some of the entertainment has been around for a long time...so welcome to the "trail" and I hope you do well...we'd like to see some "new blood."
Do a Google search for campground, rv resort or just resort trade publications or organizations.
You'll see websites for state, county and regional groups of resort & campground owners. You may be able to place an ad or join a forum and post your information.
There's a magazine that I see in most RV resort/campground offices, it's the RV Journal. I've seen ads in it for RV related products and services.

Thanks so much for all the great info. We do in fact have a web site (which I don't think I can post here) and a pretty good marketing packet, which has a DVD and some other info. I also have a couple of ads on a couple of web sites and workamper mags. The plan is in fact to do a gig or two at each park, and then move on.
I am familiar with booking agents, but would like to try to market on my own at first. I was hoping that I could get some leads out of this post and be able to contact the park directly. Thanks for Willow Tree, I will check it out.
We do look forward to hitting the road. We not looking to make it big, just enough to make that extra cash and still have fun doing it.
