Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I brought my new Rhinoflex sewer hose home today and while I was in the shop admiring it's sturdy appearance I found myself expanding and collapsing the hose while it produced differant sounds. I knew I was in trouble when I started putting ends on it to see if I could make even more sounds and started thinking it could just very well be the next YOUTUBE hit . I might need theropy,, or I need to stay away from the rum.
I get such a kick out of nifty tools and such...going to an RV store or browsing through an RV catalog is like being a kid in a candy shop to me.
Example: When my nifty surge protector arrived, I was ooh'ing and aah'ng over the darn thing. "Well, isn't this just the coolest thing ever!!"
Flushing the black tank on the 5er the first time..."Wow! Would you look at that! Is this like totally awesome or what?!?!?"
Perverted? Not me. I just tell myself I am soooo my father's daughter!

I manage a 65000 sqft home center plus lumber yard and nursery. Like a Home Depot or Lowe's but family owned,,,, think of the fun I have with new gadgets when reps bring them in LOL. Talk about a candy store
Remember those folding measuring yard sticks? They were bright yellow with black numbers? Dad had one and I was always stealing it, folding and unfolding it, and measuring things.
I think the needle nose vice grips are the most wonderful tool ever! My hubby gave me one wrapped up in a grey velvet box like a bracelet would come in, and I LOVED it!
I have all my own tools and slap the hands of anyone, including hubby, who takes MY tools!
Figuring things out on the motorhome, and fiddling with parts, pieces and new installations keeps us HAPPY---
We get the really thick RV catalog from our local dealer, set down between us on the couch and we page through it, thinking, dreaming, wishing, making a list and sometimes even buying something!

Okay, don't even get me started on places like Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.
When I lived in Brenham, the Ace Hardware folks knew me by name.
I'd go in and they would ask, "So what project are you doing now?!?!?!"
Teehee!
Oh gosh...yes, the folding yardstick...was that clever and fun as a kid or what?

At one of the RV shows my booth was across from a couple selling the Rhino Flex hoses.
All day long both of them would stand there and expand and contract the hoses to attract customers.
Expand and Contract, contract and expand, in and out, out and in, Zippp and Rippp, Rippp and Zippp all day long, every day for 17 days..I heard it in my sleep.....whoa, bad memory.... sorry

Isn't that how the Blue Man Group got started? If you haven't seen them, check youtube. I love the sounds of the hoses. Trying to come up with a song, but haven't.........yet.

You folks gotta get out on the road more. You've got way too much time on your hands.
Oh, sorry, I have to go now and recheck all my tires again with the new tire pressure gauge I just bought

LOL,,, I bought a couple new zero gravity chairs for the RV last weekend,,, I took one out of the box and put it in the living room just to give it a test..... it's still there and was used again last night. At least it made me feel like I was somewhat connected to camping LOL.... OK,, not tool related but my newest toy anyway.
In one of my "previous careers" (meaning jack of all trades and frequent job changer), I managed a "major consumer electronics" store. Imagine the fun we had with new technology.
Now, as we just took possession of our Mobile Suites, I have all those manuals on all those systems (ooo---inverter) to read through and the product to play with. (Love the hydraulic "Level-Up" system.)
I should be pretty happy for a long time to come.
And sorry, I can't blame the rum.

Hey, that isn't perverted at all, it is genius. Remember the Blue Man group just bangs on PVC pipes and look at all the money they make. You may be on to something!!!
WOW! I just found this thread. It is such good therapy for me to read that there are others out there that are gadget freaks. DW tell everyone that if there is a new gadget that will buy two, one to use and one to take apart to see how it works. Then I can't get it back together so I got extra parts to keep the good one working. I love new tools and gadgets.
