Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Need a park near Thousand Oaks, CA

We are picking up our RV located in Thousand Oaks, CA at the end of the month and are looking for a recommendation for a place to stay nearby for a trial camp. We need full hookups. We will be heading out from 15 to I-40 so preferrably something on our route. We have a 60 day 1000 mile dealer warranty so we want to spend a week nearby to throughly check everything out before making the long journey to Delaware!
We would like to stay less than 50-100 miles of Thousand Oaks in case we have to return to the dealer. I checked rvparkreview.com but all of the parks there are south, southwest, and northwest of our intended route. We will do that if we have to but prefer not having to go through LA since I am a little fearful driving it in LA traffic on my maiden voyage.

Thank you for your suggestions!

If you go to RV Park Reviews and start a search at Santa Paula you can see what is around there.

http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/California/Santa_Paula.html

The box on the upper right will show nearby towns.

Good luck,

There is an RV Park in Simi Valley which is about 20 mi. from Thousand Oaks.  It is on RV Park Reviews. Tapo Canyon Park.  Nothing fancy but has full hookups, etc. There is also 2 RV parks in Acton. The Californian RV Resort and Acton/Los Angeles North KOA. They are about 50 mi. from Thousand Oaks.

Hope this helps. If we can be of any help let us know.

Good Luck!

Kyle,
We used to live in that area. you right their no much right there.  I might suggest you go north to the Ventura Beach RV Resort (Ventura) for your first weekend just in case you need to go back to T-Oaks for repairs.   You did not say what route your taking to get to the 15?  If you go 118 to the 210 to to the 15 there is a camping in Lytel Creek and there is a camp ground at the top of the Cajon Pass on the west side of the 15, not use what either of there names are.

Just left that area .Call now if you want to stay at Topo as they require 14 days advance notice. We missed out on seeing Reagan Library as there is not much to choose from unless you want to pay a lot for one of the RV resorts.
