Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Ira and I have pretty much decided on SD as a state of residence once we hit the road. The plan is to have SD plates on the truck and trailer when we leave Pa. It is my understanding we can do everything long distance except get your actual DL, thus my question. Does anyone know how long you have to change your DL from your old state to SD?
As our hitting the road depends on house selling etc, we are not sure exactly what time of year we will be heading out. If we happen to leave here in Oct or Nov I am hoping to not have to make a run to SD untill winter has passed.
Any info would be appreciated.
Vicky

We are in the middle of this transistion. We are using MyDakota address for our forwarding service. We did not sign up until after our house sold but we are still living in Indiana in an apartment and a travel trailer until we get through the transition period. You have 90 days technically, after you get your address set up, which is a very fast process. We just purchased a new Truck and 5th wheel and made a quick drive up to get our Drivers License. Good luck and remember to have fun with the transition.
