Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
For you full timers how much time do you spend reading blogs and forums each day. I think I would end up spending hours pouring over all of the rv related blogs and forums.
I have limited myself to just a few, otherwise I think my boss would get upset with the amount of time I spend instead of working.

I spend a couple of hours every morning on blogs and forums and then usually and hour or so while I'm watching TV in the evening.
Sometimes I'd like to spend more time on blogs, but kind of limit myself so I don't end sitting at a computer all day.

I spend some time every day but the amount varies. I seem to add new blogs all the time. Some I check daily - like Linda and Howards and others I skip around so that I can read all of them a couple times a week. I learn so much from what others are doing and along the way you find some that are interested in similar things you are so it is particularly fun to follow their travels - just gives me more places to go once we start our travels (September 2010)

Hello my name is Ron and I am an addict. I have to get at least 2 hours in the morning sometimes a session in the afternoon, and then another couple hours at night before bed.

If we're not doing anything, I read blogs about 10 hrs out of the day. I love being retired.
I have started a list on excel with names, location and the dates because there's so many to read. I also have added the blogs of people I've met besides the RV-Dreams people.
Hopefully, we'll meet a lot of the bloggers in this lifestyle.

I too read blogs during work. I am in a call center and on the phone for 10 hours a day. It usually takes all day to catch up on one blog in between calls , a few seconds at a time. Every day it gets harder knowing that I still have at least one more year before I can make the leap. Thank you all for documenting your personal stories.
BTW does anyone know where the term blog originated?

My coworker and I figured out the log part. She too is looking into fulltiming with her DH. Even people that I talk to on the phones, many of them are heading in the same direction as we are, simplifying our lives. The countdown continues.

Since I still work (bad word!), I have a lot of time at the computer. I definitely read this blog/website everyday. There are a lot of other blogs that I pop in on once in awhile. I don't read any other forum posts except this one, however.
Between looking at motorhome websites, and reading the blogs/forum stuff, it's amazing I can still keep this Company running :)
OK, I must confess. I read the Journal (what journal? ...Howard's of course) every morning. I look at all the recent posts on the Forum ..and check each entry for a Blog. But, when that doesn't quell my curiosity I head for the Datastorm Users Map and browse to locations where all the satellite users are staying including Zooming- In via Google Earth directly to the campsite where folks are staying and check out the campgrounds and comments ( perhaps I'll add the location to my "first 100" list of places to go! :).
Ahh! That feels better! I'm loaded up with RV Day Dreams for the rest of the day!! :)
We read blogs/forums in the morning while sitting on the patio (in nice weather of course) and some in the evening. Not sure just how many hours. We try to read folks we know or have met and Fred is right the list grows longer. It is neat to finally meet people that you have been reading their blogs for awhile. As a newbie that is really exciting. We spend alot of time outside....hiking, exploring, photography and sometimes just doing everyday things like shopping and laundry. Of course, we have to set aside some time for our own blog. This is such a great lifestyle.....our days are full.
I'm still working so it's hard for me to get to carried away but I do (I like to call it research) research things about an hout in the morning before work and normally an hour in the evening. On weekend ussually a little more. I ussually get up at 4:30 and Diane ussually gets up around 7 so I get some good RESEARCH time in before I get the eye . I'm sure it will get worse after the house sells and we hit the road.
I spend entirely too much time doing "research" for when we can indeed hit the road. I'm on disability, and DW works, so I have the time and I relay any "important" findings to her.
When she retires, or sooner, we plan to full-time. I will continue to just be a reader, as it would be too much to type an entire blog every day. It plum wore me out typing this :)
While I was still working, I spent a couple hours a day "researching". Now that we have been on the road a few years, I spend a couple hours a day "keeping track of the folks we have met along the way". The only site that has survived from the research days until now is RV_Dreams.com. I just enjoy your company!
I usually spend an hour or so with my morning coffee reading my top 4 journals and my hometown newspaper. I visit this forum and the Escapees forum when I have a break during the day.The evening is spent checking out new places to camp and various other things. I would say I am on the computer 5 or 6 hours a day. I guess you could say I am somewhat of an addict.

RVing probably not a reality any more.It was a good time while it lasted.
I read 2 forums regularly, the rest I check in on from time to time. Often it is many of the same posts by the same people on different forums. I also check in on other full-timer's blogs to see if I can learn something!
I love reading the RV dreams ! My husband and I are still researching the RV lifestyle for our future. We have learned so much here and find everyone willing to share their experience and knowledge. It is like having an extended family. I can't wait each day to see what's new on the forum. The pictures and blogs are icing on the cake :) Rose & Mike
I'm hooked on blogs. I also write 2 of my own. Then you start following those you really enjoy...then that breeds more to follow. Pretty soon I'm spending about 5 hours a day either writing mine or reading others. They are all very interesting and you get to know your "friends" out there in the RV world and want to keep up with their lives. We've had the pleasure of meeting a few fellow bloggers this past 2 months and it was a blast. Keep reading all the blogs you can find!!
Oh, I'm amazed at how many are reading blogs at work!! I worked when I was at the office (or home office) even felt guilty if I worked on my expense reports during company time. Not judging, just surprised. I did all my personal emails and net searching in the evening at home.
I'm retired now so I spend a lot of time on this forum, the Journal, and occasionally venture out to others but I check out local ares, restaurants, etc when traveling so I spend a lot of time on my iPad.
Sherry
