Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Have been reading through the forums a bit and it seems like most people here have bigger coaches and 5th wheels. Are there other Class B owners that hang out here at all?
Don't mind being in the minority, just curious really :)

I think most people have a real problem getting rid most of their "stuff", so they get larger RVs to Full-time with. Very few of us could full-time in a Class B RV and be comfortable.
However, as you have shown, that does not mean that it can't be done. I for one, applaud you for being able to RV in a small unit. Linda and I could not.
I haven't had a chance to check out your blog yet, but am very interested to find out how you are able to live full-time in your B.
Safe travels,
Jim

We had a B once, but got tired of being cramped up in it during several days of inclement weather.
I see a lot of them on the road but only a few of them in the RV resorts and campgrounds. It seems a lot of folks around where we camp use them more for comfortable road travel, tailgating, day trips and as a kid hauler.
The good thing about B's they make sight seeing very easy, especially in some of the lesser visited state and national parks where the roads haven't been widened or straightened.

Thanks for the replies! I always enjoy the different perspectives :)
Heidi and I are on quite a few different groups and forums, some that are geared towards vans and then the more general RV and Mobile Living type sites. One that I am a moderator on, Vandwellers, has many folks that live mobile and fulltime in cars even. They have clever ways of making it work and really can be quite imaginative and come up with some great solutions for the challenges they face. To many of them, Heidi and I have a huge space to live in. :)
Heidi and I were actually fulltiming in our own Vans and met on the vandwellers group, (lived 1500 miles apart) After getting to know each other, I drove out to SLC to be by her while she finished working for Intel. We then came back here to Washington to store her van and condense things a bit. We were married last June. I have to say that we probably are pretty uncommon in that we love that smaller space and do very well in it. I know neither of us would even want to go to a larger Roadtrek. Taj is so perfect for us(and very modified now). I have owned a few larger RVs and kept downsizing till I bought the Roadtrek, just suits me better.
We sure don't mind the differences in rigs, we will share a campfire with anyone who wants to, anytime! Really looking forward to meeting and/or getting to know more people here! A,B,C or 0...

Hi, Yes, I have a B+, but I don't fulltime any more. I have even towed an 18' HiLo with it, to have an extra bed and bath when we had visitors from England traveling with us.
I have had several B's, but the side entrance steps aren't as easy for me as a regular RV door.
Most of the folks who come here are Fulltimers, Wannabees or Gonnabees, so they are interested in the larger rigs. We fulltimed in bus conversions for the safety factor.
I like the ease of driving, and being able to park my B+ in a regular parking spot, even though it is wider than a B. I have thought about getting a smaller rig, but I haven't found the right one, yet.
Our B is very well suited to Heidi and I, but I know they wouldn't work for many. It is fun to see all the various ways people enjoy this mobile lifestyle though. I think if I didn't have a B I would have to get one of those really cute old Corvair class A rigs.

Hey Mike & Heidi, We have had a class B for almost 10 years. As a matter of fact Nancy uses it as her car. We have travelled as much as 3 months at a time, but, we wouldn't consider it for full timing. We have one more big trip planned - to Alaska next year and then we will buy a larger motorhome for fulltiming.
We have a pleasureway, model XL (which is the wide body). Wide body means it's 6 " wider than a standard class B. We have a picture posted on our blog. Yes we really have a class B. At least for now.
Mine is an oldie, but goodie, Mike. An 1982 20' TranStar, with the storage areas on the back each side of the rear door. 350, duals, 1-ton, 4KW Onan. The dual rear wheels, rear air bags, front Four-Way shocks and front sway bar really give it a smooth and stable ride. I have had three B's, and 2 C's since I bought it. A Merry Miler, Coachmen B, Explorer B, a small Coachmen C and a Nissan Mirage C. But I didn't like them as much as my B+, so I sold them. I even tried a fiberglass trailer, but it wasn't as easy to tow, (or back up) as it is to drive the B+.
But I wouldn't want to FT in mine. In fact, I wouldn't want to FT again, anyway. I am settled in what was supposed to be "Just our little Winter Place" here on Lake Conroe, North of Houston. I would love to be a "sunbird", but I just don't like traveling on my own since my DH died. As I am an SPCA foster mom, I can't leave here for long anyway. Happy Trails. Penny, TX
Hi Nancy and Bill, Thanks for the response! I am following your blog now, kinda exciting to watch it from the start :) I like the looks of your PW, but I understand the decision not to full time in it. Heidi and I have made enough mods to ours to make it very comfortable for us, but we both enjoy the small space too. We really don't like to have a lot of "stuff" so this keeps us at a level we appreciate. FT in a B is definitely not for most people though.

we don't even have a rig yet but mentally we started with a class C but some of the newer B' caught our eye... but the more we looked and researched the more we moved from b-C's to class A's ... still looking though... I would do well in smaller space but my DW likes the roomier A's... best of luck in your travels...
