Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Well folks.....we took our RV out for it's first trip. We will be going full time in about 4 weeks and figured we better take it once on a little excursion before we move in completely. We have some great words of wisdom to share.
1. Don't trust your GPS (we call ours Pam). Pam took us on a one way skinny road lined with sandbags and low hanging trees to get to the campground. We usually map out our destination before we leave anywhere, but figured Pam would know the way since it was right off the freeway. We blame Pam for the new 20 foot scratch across the top of the coach. Guess we will have something to remember when we see the scratch.
2. Check and double check that everything is out of the way of the slide-outs before you retract them. This includes the passenger side seat. We now will be reminded of this everytime we look at the broken wood trim that will need to be glued back on.
3. Make sure you have a water hose. Thank goodness the RV place gave us a little house warming gift that had one in it.
4. Thank goodness for rear cameras. We noticed a crazy driver behind us who was swerving everywhere. When she decided to pass us she came half way over into our lane and luckily we were able to get over quick enough or we would have added blue paint scratches to the other side of the coach.
So, all in all, I think we are off to a great start!
Congrats on your first trip, as far as GPS, Cobra makes a Truckers Gps that we used for 2000 miles the last few weeks, perfect all the way, still always wise to check your route, but we have had a great experience, G
