Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Adding a room to our awning

We are looking into adding a room onto our awning and came across the Carefree Vacation'r.  Does anyone own this or have any other recommendations for us.  We have a Weather Pro Awning.  We want one that is more than just a screen.

Thanks,
Chaplain Troy

Weight and storage space are considerations.  I didn't see any specifics on it.

Looking at:
F-350/Ram 3500 type truck, possibly an Airstream or a smaller 5th Wheel.

However, there is still time to change the configuration, just a plan.

We don't yet personally own a Vacation'r Room, but have been admiring it, too.  In fact, we have just made it available at our online store (rvsupplywarehouse.com).
Pros: Vacation'r room is one-piece and will fit most any awning--it just needs the slot in the awning tube.  It's truly lightweight (24-34 lb.).  Fabric is durable tent fabric and, therefore, durable and will pack away nicely.
Cons: Just wish Carefree had offered it a few years back so we wouldn't have had to struggle with make-do options up to now.   It's not cheap, but it's on sale right now.
Of course, it adds a huge space to your living area and it's much more than a screenroom.
We don't have any personal experience with your Weather Pro awning, do you know if it has the necessary slot in the roller tube?

We have a 17' add-a-room and it is a huge asset. You can store stuff or use it as a secondary room. You will not be dissatisfied!
