Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

My name is Daryle and I have been in the Air Force for 22 years. I have 2 years to go then I will be retired at 42 biggrin

At that point I will become a full timer, but my story is a little different. My girlfriend will still need to work so I will be near my family (actually on my brothers farm) about 8 months out of the year, 3 months in the winter somewhere warm (like FL) and probably about a month a year roaming around on vacation. But we will be living in the RV year round...my retirement only stretches so far hmm

I have just begun this process and hope to learn a lot in the next 2 years, there are so many decisions that it hurts my head sometimes. I am overseas right now and will move to OH in Jun. At least then I can go look at some of these RV's and start getting a feel for it.

You've found the right web site to learn all about the full-timing lifestyle.

Daryle,

Welcome to RV Dreams forum family.  And, thanks for your service.

You will find that there are a lot of knowledgeable people here, and about all are willing to be friendly and helpful without being too biased.  While we all have a tendency to like what it is that we own or drive, we do try to always be unbiased in our answers.

Jo and I have spent nearly the last 2 years in researching what it was that we wanted for a Dream RV.  It could arrive as early as this week.  Using the forums such as RV Dreams and looking for forums directly related to a particular brand that you may be interesed in is a valuable way to look at the specifications and features of each RV.  Take your time, study closely, ask as many questions as you want, and don't be bashful about what you ask.  There are no dumb questions, but it would be somewhat foolish to buy something and then find that an unasked question might have saved you some trouble.

Use the internet for searching for images of an interesting RV as well.  Many times, those images can be quite telling in their own right.

Have fun in the process and keep looking ahead.
