Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Slide-Out Tray and Table/Bench question

I'm new to your website.  First, let me say, It's GREAT!  A wealth of info that is so so helpful.  In reviewing your getting starting and overview pages, I notice that you list a picnic table and bench, but then indicate that you no longer have it.   You also indicate that your slide out tray is no longer there.  I could read five years' worth of journal entries and possibly find the answer, but I thought it would be easier just to ask you here!  Just wondering..... thanks.  Mike and Linda

Hi Mike & Linda!

Thanks so much for the kind words.  smile

Sorry it has taken me awhile to get back to you.  We've had this little Rally thing going, and I've been a bit busy.  biggrin

Yes, in the beginning, we had this Lifetime brand Hunter Green Folding Picnic Table & Bench Set.

You can also find it at the Camping World website, but the link above provided more details.

It's pretty cool.  But, when it is all folded up, it's pretty heavy and hard to store.  We had to put it flat on our fifth wheel "basement" floor, and then when we wanted to use it, I had to unload everything that we had stowed on top of it.

Eventually, due to the inconvenience and the weight and the fact that we just didn't use it very much, it became expendable.

We replaced that set with one of those aluminum roll-top camp tables.  It's a Lewis & Clark Fold & Go table with adjustable legs.  Sam's Club used to carry them, but not anymore.  I could only find a website or two that still has the basic table, but none that have the exact one we have (with the adjustable legs/height) anywhere.

As for the basement slide-out tray, it was another very heavy accessory and it came with the rig.  We thought it was a nice feature .... at first.

However, it wasn't practical for full-time use.  For best use it required stowing stuff of the appropriate width on it - well, our stuff comes in all shapes and sizes.  Then, we learned we couldn't pack around the edges of it or else it would get stuck and wouldn't work.  Basically, it prevented full use of our basement space and added a lot of weight.

So, I took it out and left it (and the hardware) by a dumpster in a big RV park.  It was gone within an hour.  smile

Hope that's what you were looking for.  smile

Thanks, Howard, for your response.  That's exactly what I wanted to know.  Looks like y'all had a fantastic rally!  Hope we can catch one someday!  -Mike and Linda
