Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We've made the decision; just can't do it yet. But I'm working on getting rid of the stuff - I'm the ebay/craigslist/freecycle/thriftshop/garbage queen! Someone told me a few weeks ago on my blog that this process is liberating, and I agree. My husband Don is retired from the AF; he's been a patient househusband while our kids grew up and left and I kept working. I'm a teacher's union president (was a teacher, now out of the classroom doing this job) and will retire either June 2011 or 2012. We'll be putting the house up for sale Spring 2011 - don't want to do it before that because no one ever buys houses in our town during the winter - too much snow and cold! Depending on what we make from the house, we're either taking our 28-foot travel trailer into full-timing or we're going to upgrade. The housing market here in California is awful, so there's no telling what it will look like in a year or two.
Great bunch of folks here that will be glad to help you get ready to full-time. If you have questions, just ask, and remember, on this forum, there are no dumb or silly questions.
We've all had to start out sometime and we remember what it's like.
Good luck with your dreams,
Jim

We too plan to put our house on the market next spring and will hit the road when it sells. Hopefully that will happen before the summers is over. I for sure don't plan on spending another winter is the snow and cold.
Welcome to the RV Dreams family and forum!! Congratulations on your decision to full-time. We began this wonderful lifestyle in August and haven't looked back.....not one time!! The purging is soooo important so take your time and do a great job. I didn't and now have to return to our climate controlled storage building and do some more. I find myself purging from the motorhome also.
Good luck in your plans.....it is a wonderful life!
We are on that path as well. My fiancee's property is on the market, and mine will be too in a year or so. Our first big 'get rid of stuff' yard sale will be sometime after the rally next week.
Good luck in your preparations..that's half the adventure!
Hi Cyndi...I think I know you from my blog. Welcome to the forums. Great people hang out here with great and helpful information. I have learned a lot from checking in here. I think that whatever RV you can fulltime in, is better than staying put in a sticks-bricks home!
Welcome aboard!! Keep in touch here and we will all help each other. You don't have to go too far down the road to run into a Dreamer. Look forward to meeting you.
Welcome to the forum, my name is Don and I am retired Air Force. My wife's name is not Cyndi though and she is not a teacher. LOL

Thanks for all the warm welcomes - from new friends to a few I already "met" through the blogging world. This is a whole new community for us to "move into," and I think we're going to like it here!
