Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hi everyone! I just started researching into RVing as a more permanent lifestyle. My girlfriend and I (+ 2 cats) want to stop renting and start saving money. We hope RV life is the answer!
I am about to graduate from the University of Texas with an MFA. I want to maintain a healthy lifestyle while having daily adventures, and I want to make money podcasting and lifestreaming. Oh and transcend reality as frequently as possible
I can't believe how much information is already out there! I'm desperate to dive in. Hope you don't mind a newb!!
With me, reality doesn't need to be "transcended". A large part of the RV lifestyle, especially when traveling the country and seeing all the beauty of this world, is more about enjoying reality.
Welcome to our world.
Terry

I am rather new here myself...it is a great community.
MFA? Master of Fine Arts? How do you plan to produce income via podcasting/lifestreaming? What is lifestreaming? I assume it is a form of online video stream documenting your life.
Welcome, you might want to check out Howard and Linda's budget and maybe google RV budgets. There are many out there that will give you an idea of what it costs to live in a RV.

RVing probably not a reality any more.It was a good time while it lasted.
Hi Kyle! Thanks for the welcome. Yes, Master of Fine Arts. In design. My research is all about lifestream design.
Lifestreaming is just sharing my experiences online. I email photos and tweets from my phone throughout the day to my lifestream website, and write longer blog posts on my computer when it makes sense to. It's almost exactly the same thing as blogging, but I just publish more frequently and in smaller bits. I try to document the parts of my life that I'm working on: food and exercise, lifestream design, finance, spirituality. Posting my life publicly online is a great way to self-evaluate, be accountable for my actions, and recognize patterns. The best part is the conversation–I get so much helpful feedback from friends that guides my future decisions. And in turn I try to publish helpful information as much as possible, and to give feedback to other people who post their experiences online.
Another aspect of lifestreaming is tracking the data in your life, like calorie intake, weight, money, etc. All things quantifiable. I look at lifestreaming as a life support system... by tracking your life and posting about your progress, you can't help but improve your quality of life since you have hard numbers to work with and motivate you.
As for generating income, one can subscribe for a monthly fee to the premium content in my lifestream site and podcast. The lifestream subscribers get high quality image files, personal video journals and confessional style posts, and more risque content. The podcast subscribers get unedited podcast episodes which are much longer and contain more information.
The subscription model works well but the problem is creating content that makes people want more (and thus, sign up for a paid subscription). So basically my life experience is the basis for site content, and the more exciting my life is, the more exciting the content is (in theory).
