Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Time to DELURK

Hello everyone,

With the rally less than a month away, I think it is time to delurk and become an active participant in the forum.  I am Mike and my wife is Terri.  At this time we don't own an RV or a truck to pull it.  I have been doing extensive research in to both fifth wheels and tow vehicles.  I will be asking some questions soon and tapping in to all of your experience and advice.  We were somewhat lost as to how to spend the rest of our lives together until I discovered RV-Dreams.com and Howard and Linda's journal.  We thought that we wanted to sell our house and buy a condo for our home base and then travel for a few months at a time.  Then, thanks to Howard and Linda, I "discovered" full timing.  Of course, I did more research and I became convinced this was for us.  Then I thought, "Now I have to sell this whole thing to Terri."  She immediately jumped on board, and we are on our way to a whole new lifestyle!  We are excited to meet all of the Rally attendees at the 2010 RV-Dreams Rally and to those that won't be there, we hope to see you "down the road somewhere."

Time to “DELURK”

Mike and Terri,

Welcome! We are in about the same boat as you. We've been researching since 2006, just put the house on the market and hope to be on the road by the end of the year.
Welcome aboard! See you at the rally!

RE: Time to DELURK

Welcome to the forum! smile

Glad you decided to join in. I'm sure you'll be having lots of questions, and the Rally should help you answer many of them.

Se you there.

Jim

Welcome Mike and Terri! There is such a wealth of information here for us newbies - our situation is very similar to yours and we are so thankful for Howard, Linda and all the people on this site that we have learned so much from.

Welcome Mike and Terri!

We, too, are shopping for our rig. Where will you be staying for the rally? We are looking and can't quite decide if we want an oceanfront condo or just stay at the holiday inn.

We are staying at the Hampton Inn. http://www.hamptonharbourgate.com/
We have had good luck with Hampton Inn the last couple of years, never stayed at this one though.  I just checked and they still have rooms available for 59, 69, 79, and 89 dollars per night.  We also have a site reserved at Willow Tree just in case we find the "perfect RV" before the rally.  I don't mind not being on the beach this time, avoid the higher pricing and I figure we will be at the Rally most of the day anyway.

Thanks to all for the welcomes and greetings.  We are really looking forward to meeting all of you.  Rv'ers are the greatest people!!

Welcome to the forum!

As you see, there are quite a few people that are all in the researching phase of this dream. We hope to be full timers in 2012. George has his property on the market now, those funds will be invested until my house goes on the market in a year or so. Then it's motorhome shopping. We have the toad :)

Be good to meet you at the rally, we're staying at the Courtyard Marriott - Barefoot Landing.

We are also new.  Will be hitting the road in mid June.  We are attending the rally and looking forward to getting answers to our many questions.  We will be staying at the Hampton Inn.  Hope to run into you Mike and Terri, we are coming in from California on April 1st but we are going to spend some time in Charleston the first part of the week.

Welcome Mike and Terri!!!

Evin and I are also new to the forum.  We are just finishing up on our purchase of a vehicle and 5th wheel.  We spent a week in the Elkhart area and toured 6 plants prior to making our final decisions.  It was an eye-opening experience that we both really enjoyed.  Our decisions were greatly affected by the tours and what we read on this and other owners' sites.

We have emailed and later talked with several people we met through the RV-Dreams Forum.  All were a great help and inspired us "to go for it."  We are also going to the Rally and can hardly wait.  Hope to see you there.  Good luck and enjoy your adventurous journey.

Steve
