Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Crazy Story

Look at this situation, i have been reading all the comments, i think the manufacturer was a little shady, and he ran into a PITA customer, this is a lethal combination, G

wow I really feel bad for these people. I would think at some point you get an attorney to go after the shop to recover all their money back. Even if all that is fixed, I am not sure I would trust it for the long term, especially when someone is in a wheelchair, you would take extra precautions on safety. Hope this video makes it to all the RV sites to apply pressure on the manufacturer.

If you notice on the video the majority of the complaints have been fixed, it would be more believable if the accusations where visible. You must remember every story has 3 sides, G

I also have a problem with the after the fact video. I would have shown the so called defects for credibility's sake.

Well I think part of the reason it is an after the fact video is that people don't normally start recording what is wrong with anything they just purchased because there is an initial trust factor that the manufacturer will fix it and get it right. We all have different 'boiling points' where enough is enough. Theirs just happened to hit after they decided that fixing a lot of the problems themselves was getting beyond ridiculous. Even with that, you could still see the poor craftsmanship of what has not been fixed or can not be fixed.
I hope we find out what the final outcome of this story is because if anything, it tells everyone 'buyer beware' and its better to be skeptical from the beginning when things are not delivered as promised rather than be trusting that it will be taken care of.

Due to their handicap situation, this is even more tragic.

It does drive home the fact that a manufacturer's reputation for customer satisfaction and service after the sale is one of the more important areas to investigate prior to signing any contract or transferring any funds.

From what I saw in the video, this seemed to be a relatively small manufacturer that built "one off" custom designs.  At best, this is an iffy situation without strong proof of a preponderance of very satisfied customers.

The sad thing is many Rvers will not watch 9 minute videos off the web because they don't have the internet bandwidth or are scared to exceed limits like 5GB per month by watching videos at all. I didn't watch.

You didn't miss much!

Example number 1,700,967,641 of people behaving badly.  On both sides.

It's unfortunate that they had many problems.  I didn't watch the whole video so my question is why would they accept it with so many defects?

Hello everyone! This is Karen from the You Tube video. I was poking around on the You Tube site and found that it contains information about how people linked into our You Tube video. About 100 people came from Howard and Linda's RV Dreams. I had no idea! So if anyone is interested , here's a little update. We've been living in the motorhome for about two months and have been slowly getting all of the problems fixed. This is definitely not what we had envisioned when we decided to get a custom built motorhome but we'll be okay.

We thought that we were being fairly careful when we entered into this venture with Ken but we should have checked more thoroughly. I checked the BBB , searched for lawsuits , criminal records , anything that I could think of. We saw some of his work in person but with most of it ,we could only view pictures.
One thing that we should have done was to talk to some of his former customers.

We made the video after a very frustrating month and a half. We had taken possession of the motorhome in Dec. but it had been in and out of Ken's shop several times. He had just returned it to us , supposedly fixed , and we discovered that, not only had he not fixed the problems , he had made them worse. The video was our attempt to warn any future customers and not really aimed at RVers , since his main work is building truck sleepers. But he also does quite a bit of work on RVs , repair and electronic system installations so we do want to warn any RVers about him too. We met several other people during the time our motorhome was being built who were very upset with Ken's work and business practices.

I started a blog about this in late 2009 if you want to see everything that happened.

Sorry about not making it clickable - I'm doing something wrong.
