Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

TT Rented

A while back I wrote a few post about my selling my TT and not being able to get my wife involved in the RV thing.
Update; We have an up coming Mission trip to the Big Bend area (Presidio). Last Friday night she handed me some papers about renting a TT for us to use on the trip. Well Saturday we drove to the dealer and placed a deposte to rented a 24 foot TT. Needless to say I was still in shock and was waiting for the reason. So I ask and she said she did not want to stay in a nasty hotel.confuse And she is taking off an extra day so we can take our time and an extra night on the road. Well I am really looking forward to April, the mission trip is a blessing in it's self.

One step at a time Dan. You will win her over yet.

Yeah, if you can find it, either 20/20 or 60 Minutes did an expose on motel/hotels a while back. Used black light to find --- uh, bodily fluids, and other uh, well, you know, stuff! My word, makes you never want to use a motel again. I agree with your wife's opinion of a nasty motel.

My DW wants to take her bathroom with her any where we go. I hate having to find a place to pull over because old tiny tanks needs to stop. But, I don't have to sleep in some nasty motel either, so, I just do it.

Well, Dan.  I'd say that was a step in the right direction.  Now, just remember to participate in things that she likes to do as well when you are on the road.  With a little luck, maybe she will decide that even a rental TT or fifth wheel wouldn't be as good as a unit that she would know was clean.

Have fun.  Don't forget to let us know when you come to Oklahoma City so we can try to meet up.

Terry

Here's a thought. Go out of your way to make sure everything goes well. After the trip tell here "The RV was much better than the nasty hotel, but it's still renting a bed others have slept in. I think we should get our own RV honey".

Good luck on the trip, and convincing her on getting your own RV.

Hey Dan,

That's great news!  If I can get my DH enthused in his own right about full-timing, well, gee, there is hope for you, too!  biggrin

Try to ensure she has a great time and that you work in activities she enjoys.  I know taking my Dave to places where the cycling is terrific sure has helped.  Oh yeah, and help with the dishes, etc.  wink

Hope you guys have a safe and terrific trip!  I'm jealous; never been to Big Bend but it's on our "To Visit" list!

Happy trails!
