We'd like to know too. Found a couple 5th wheels we like. Now if we could just get them to add a measly 5 feet on the back and give us a garage just big enough for 2 motorcycles, a side garage door, a third axle probably, and NO entrance into the living area...I'd be perfectly happy!!!!

We've been full-timing in our Excel Wild Cargo for over 2 years now, and it's holding up very well. Excel's have a -10 degree guarantee and are warranteed for full-timers. We were in -8 temps in Jan. of 2008 in Colo. and were very comfortable. It's not a lightweight though, weighing in at 15,500 empty. They are built by Peterson Industries in Smith Center Kansas.

hi folks, i am researching luxury toy haulers to go full time next year. i will be getting one that has a full bathroom in garage (or add what i need) so i have 2 full suites with common area in between. if you plan to visit hot and cold areas, be sure and ck the r-values for floor, sides, roof of the hauler. if u plan to use the garage as i do as a 2nd bedroom, be sure to ck if it is insulated at all. i found out only by accident that most toy hauler models' garages are not insulated even though they feature ac/h (talk about energy & $ loss!). now i specifically ask if the garage is insulated. the only model i've found so far that does is grand design 399th. the heartlands do not. i'll add to this message as i find out about addl models.

Did you look at the DRV Full House? They are very nice. Check them out. They are luxury and well insulated.

hi bruce (my younger brother's name!) - thanks for the DRV referral - i hadn't come across them mentioned anywhere. beautiful toy haulers - my pref is the LX455 with the back patio. they are def higher in quality and features but priced about 20-60k above closest competitors. i would give them a serious look except i want the side patio option now offered on a number of luxury toy haulers.

i've been doing a ton of research and have put together a spreadsheet so i can more accurately track features on each model - they all start sounding/looking alike after awhile. for anyone interested in my findings/opinions to date:

as of today, there are 13 on my radar. i've ranked them in terms of 'likability' and the Grand Design Momentum 399th and the Jayco 4113 Seismic are currently tied for first place. both have very nice floor plans, 1, 1/2 baths. jayco 4113 is very diff from all other models with a step up kitchen which looks pretty nice in the photos.

current challenge - i'm in portland, or, and have ONLY been able to physically see the Momentum! the west seems quite sparse in terms of rv viewing opportunities in this category. not exactly sure how i'm going to deal with this buying challenge. my current selections are all (with except of Momentum) based exclusively on photographs, descriptions and floor plans. and, i'm sure my ratings would change with an actual visit to each but what to do? good thing i have a year before i go FT.

DRV Full house is the hi end Toyhauler. Very well insulated and manufactured for ft living. My second choice was the Heartland Road Warrior.

i really like the heartland road warrior too and its on my list, but i am receiving conflicting data on the insulation level in the garage (wh i want to use for a 2nd bed/bath). going to the salem, or, rv show next weekend to pin down some answers!

Our research leads us to the Grand Design models. Check out their Facebook page. Lots of great comments about the experience, customer service etc. When ready to pull the trigger, GD is our choice.
