Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Another one crossing over . . .

Hi Y'all !

I (Sharon, 60) have been lurking on this site for a couple of weeks now and have been thoroughly enjoying all of the camaraderie and great information. What an awesome, entertaining site! Howard & Linda have accomplished so much and have done an amazing job with this site & forum, in what seems like a very short time (jealous). smile.gif) Makes my life seem trivial.

We too became houseless back in 2005 and have been semi-retired full timers ever since in our 38’ Bounder motorhome. We spent our first winter in Arizona, 2nd in Florida and this is our 3rd winter in the Rio Grande Valley. We are originally from Canada (eh?) so we spend our summers in Ontario to be near our families.  We love every minute of this wonderful lifestyle and really enjoy meeting and hearing from others that share that passion.

When my DH (Ron, 63) proposed this idea of full timing I was a bit reluctant (Read: You want me to do WHAT?,) and I agreed to trying it for a year – if after that time I wasn’t happy (Yes, it is all about ME!) then we would go back to the traditional life style. Well, it wasn’t until 4 years later that I remembered saying that. We just simply haven’t looked back. Reading the forums here has brought back all those emotions and roller coasting experiences with our decision. Would we do it again? You Betcha! Would we go back? Reluctantly, (Read: kicking, screaming, clawing or Not in a million years!).

Hoping to get to know all of you through this forum and perhaps meeting up with some of you in our travels.

Happy Trails,

Sharon

Thanks for the Welcome!

Hopefully we can contribute as much as we gain. I really enjoy the ladies threads with new recipes - we love to eat. Also always looking for decorating ideas - we've done some renovating, making changes to our MH to suit us and making it our home. You will probably meet up with Ron on the 'Boys' side.

Thanks again.

S

Welcome!! It is good to have experienced folks join in. We started full-timing in August and just like you all.....we haven't looked back. It is an amazing lifestyle and we haven't even really begun yet. I can only imagine what it would be like years from now. Anyway, welcome and please continue to join in. It is always a learning curve!!

Welcome to a great group. We are currently still in  s&b in cold and snowy South Dakota. DW and I will be taking our first extended trip in our TT sometime this spring, depending on when the snow melts and the ground is firm enough to get the TT out of storage.  The folks here are very willing to share all that they know and are very friendly.

Well, it is certainly good to know you are leaving your options open.  (See above.)

Seriously, welcome to the forums.  As you will find, there are a lot of knowledgeable full/part timers on the forums along with some fairly knowledgeable wannabees.  Jo and I are in the wannabee category at the moment.

Feel free to ask questions and share your wealth of knowledge as well.  All of us can learn from each other.

Terry

Thank You All So Much for the warm welcome! What a great bunch of people!

We watch several forums but this is the first one that I have ever joined. You've certainly confirmed that I've made the right choice.

I will get some photos/links up as soon as I have time. . . I get up in the morning with nothing to do and by the time I go to bed I've only got it half done confuse

Thanks again, S
