Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I decided to treat myself to an infrred temp gun to read tire temps. Where can I get one? I saw them in the Camping World catalog but went to Lazydays CW in Tampa today and when I asked I was told CW used to carry them but no longer. I tried Auto Zone and few car parts places but they just gave me a blank stare. I'm in Florida but my home address is Canada so I don't want to mail order one. (we move often) Thanx
I bought an Infrared thermometer at Auto Zone. It was about 2 years ago, and I think it was under $30. Nothing fancy, but it works fine.

The Fort Myers, Florida Camping World still has some since I noticed them there a couple days back. But as others have said there are many sources for them. Mine came from Costco a few years back.

Thank you all. We're going to Ft Myers next week so I'll check CW again (the catalog price is $59). After people at Auto Zone and another auto parts place looked at me like I was crazy, I thought I'd ask here. Thanks for making me feel more normal.
I also went the auto parts store route and had to go to quite a few before I found one. I think it was about $40. They work quite well, but the only thing I use it for is to check the trailer hubs occasionally on long trips. Problem is I forget I have it.
I purchased one from Sears. It works well and I use it quite often to measure tire and hub temperatures on the motor coach and the toad. It is quite handy and can give you good information about the condition of bearings, brakes and tires. Of course it will measure the temperature of any surface, so use your imagination.

FWIW, I keep mine in the compartment between the seats of the truck so I can check tire temps every so often. That just gives me a good reference for comparison and can warn of issues, like Howard’s a few months back.
Just received the Harbor Freight catalog with one listed for $9.99 plus the shipping. It may be on their web site. May not be the best but should work ok for the price.
Got mine at Granger several years ago and it still works fine.
One often overlooked use for these guns is checking electrical connections. If you find a terminal, wire connection, breaker, etc. that is reading above the rest then chanches are good you have either a loose connection or at least a less than desirable one. It works just as well on battery connections too.
