Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

another new reader...

while perusing other forums, I came across the link for this one...really awesome reading!  My eyes are starting to cross from trying to take everything in.....

So, as to me- my husband retired in February at age 53, (I am 50)and we decided we didn't like where we live, so we sold pretty much everything, including the boat and house, and bought a 5th wheel and a truck. Our youngest is away at school and we decided to go on the road full time while she is "busy".
We left Michigan in August, with our cat, and have been traveling the country ever since. In a year or two, or 10, if we find someplace we want to settle, we will.  In the meantime we are having a blast exploring.
Recently we've had a setback to our plans- my father in law is seriously ill, but at least we are available and are able to spend whatever time necessary with my mother in law, to help her handle things.

looking forward to reading more!

Sue

Sue, Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your in-laws, but as you stated, this lifestyle lets you be flexible so you can be where you're needed.

Take care,

Jim

Welcome to the RV Dreams forum!! Sounds like you guys are on your way with a very good, solid plan. We just started full-timing in August and it just keeps getting better and better.

Stay connected cause we all learn from each other and I am sure you have much to share.

Welcome! We can't wait to 'hit the road' in a few years. Reading about everyone's adventures in this lifestyle keeps me focused to the 'light at the end'..

Welcome aboard, Sue:

Congratulations on beginning the FT life.  Hope all goes well with your in-law situation.  Good that you can be of service to your MIL at this time of stress and need.

Welcome Sue. We welcome new folks to this community that Howard and Linda awakened. We each have unique lives with individual situations and each of us can share them here. I sincerely hope your in-laws see better days and keep on truckin".

Welcome Sue to this fabulous life style! I say it is fabulous even though we were only gone for 5 months before we too had to get off the road and help family. My mom has been in and out of the hospital since June (she is in now) and our daughter just had her first child (and our first grandchild). So the flexiblity of no job, no home, no time requirements has been great. We hope to be back on the road in April......
Good luck and hope we meet on the road somewhere sometime!
