Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

WHAT LADDER DO YOU USE?

I am looking to buy a ladder to use on the RV.   I do not want to attach one to the fixed ladder on the rear of the coach -- so a regular step ladder from Lowes or Home Depot will not work for me.

Do any of you own a telescoping ladder that can be stored in the basement?  What brand and size is it?   Do you like it? Does it have any limitations?

Here's the one I bought. So far I have no complaints. Folds up and stores in my basement. It's rated at 300 lbs.

Werner hides the weight of their ladders.  Got any idea of what it weighs?

Thanks,

George

We have a Telesteps telescoping ladder that we bought at Costco.com many years ago, but have seen models at Camping World and other places. Their current models are http://www.telesteps.net/product.htm. I don't see ours but of the current models it is most like the 1400T. Ours has wide steps, some have narrow steps. We love it, it fits away and the only problem is I have to lube it with silicone sometimes when it sticks. Many ask me about the ladder in campgrounds and are real excited until most hear it is over $200. An internet search shows many places selling the ladders.

We have the Little Giant can be a step ladder can be an extension ladder does everything we've needed it to do.

We have a knock off version of the Little Giant that we got for about $100 at Walmart or Home Depot. It's quite handy as a 6 foot step ladder and also opens to an 11 foot extension to get to the top of the slides. I keep it in the bed of the truck. Very sturdy.

We have the same one as Speedy has. Have had it for years and it has served us well.

I like the fact that it folds up so small and fits easily in our basement compartment.

I was able to borrow a Telesteps ladder from a neighbor at our current location.  That is a fabulous ladder. Sturdy, wide steps, easy to use and stores in a small space.

I ordered one today.

Thanks for all of your replies.

I have one like Dan. It is very sturdy and I can reach the top of the front, back or sides without having to lean it against the trailer. It is sturdy enough that I have used it on construction projects that I have volunteered on.

We have the tele step and just love it.
Weight is under 10 lbs and it can be store in a very small space.
Glad you made this decision.
