Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Port Arthur/Beaumont TX area

Looks like we will be spending about 6 weeks in the Port Arthur/Beaumont TX area during late Feb all of March and early April.    Len has a short term job promise in that area.

Anyone here have recommendations?   I looked at reparkreviews.com and don't see anything much promising.

Check this site, looks like there are several. I have no knowledge of any of them. We lived near there for a long time, but never camped there.

We did spend a bit of time on Pleasure Island at the RV Park there. It was a nice place, rather remote, but within an easy drive of all the refineries and such.

Don't know what happened to it during hurricane Ike, might still be in business. It was great, but a bit cool during winter months. Winds right off the lake are brisk shall we say.

in October we stopped overnight in Beaumont returning from Kerrville at the Gulf Coast RV Resort.  It is a large, well laid out park.  Cement roads and pads, grass kept well elsewhere.  It is relatively new and kept spotless.

Very open and bright.  It is a great place for overnight or a clean, safe place to stay on temporary work assignments.  Has a great breakfast every day - even waffles in the shape of Texas!

There is no "it factor", but were I in that area, I would consider it for a "temp home".  The absolute only negative for us was there were not a sufficient number of washers/dryers for the number of people.  However, if you were to be there (not traveling through) you could time your wash better than we were able.

A new clean, well run park is so much better than a secluded, not well kept property.  It is conveniently located and yet far enough from highways to be quiet.  There may be a better place, but this would work  for us.
