Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

the 5th Wheel is finally ours

This last week our 2010 30RSO Excel finally arrived! We spent Thanksgiving in it camped at the dealership. We are Iowans and the weather was terrible outside but we were cozy inside. The hardest part was winterizing it yesterday and leaving it. Our full time dreams are a little ways off. I just want to thank Howard and Linda and everyone on this forum. It was stumbling onto their website that got us thinking and dreaming of going full time - a new adventure. Now we are just getting our ducks in a row so that we can really do this. I have learned so much from all of you and know I will learn more in the future. Thanks to everyone and especially Howard and Linda who have shared so much knowledge on their website.

Janie and John Dean
now owners of a 30rso Excel 5th wheel
and future full timers

Congratulations on your new "home." We started full-timing in August after waiting for about five years. Believe me the time will pass and you will be on the road before you know it. Until then stay connected on the forums.

Keep us updated on your timeline.

Wow, congratulations, that first night in the rig must have been great. Spring will be here before we know it, and you will be back in the rig again. G

It was wonderful. The hard part was going home but we know it won't be long until we are in it for the summer. At this point in our lives, time seems to speed by.

Hiya Janie,

Congrats on the new rig!  Excel is a great brand and I hope you have many happy years with it.

We just purchased a Montana yesterday and will be taking delivery in 2-3 weeks.   I know I'm excited and I bet you are too!

Again, congratulations!

Betty

Hi Janie and John,
Congratulations on your new Excel. I'm sure you will be very happy with it as we are with ours. We bought our Excel used, 2 years old. We have been fulltiming in it for over 2 years and are very pleased with it. I was born in Cedar Rapids and raised in Iowa but have spent most of my life in the south. We have been in 30 states and 3 provinces since we purchased our trailer. We do volunteer work as we travel and have really enjoyed the lifestyle. We started researching and preparing for fulltime RVing 2 years before doing so, that is when we found Howard and Linda. They were very helpful in our preparation to hit the road and they continue to be as well as the RV Dream family. Stay in touch with the journal and the forum and you will find it quite helpful.

God bless,
Allan and Jeanne

Thanks to all. Allen, good to know there are those who know where Iowa is. I was raised in both Minnesota and Iowa but have spent most of my life on the Iowa side. It' a good place with great people but we long to get out and experience more of this great county and the full timing really appeals to us. Hope we see you all on the road one day. We really want to get to one of the rallies but it may be another year until we are not tied to our jobs. Again thanks everyone.
