Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Could wait no longer!

Had planned on joining the class of '06, but the house (East TN) did not sell (Bad timing), and we have been expecting it to for three years now.  We can wait no longer, as time is flying by (We are 79/78 yrs), so we figured out a way to get on the road anyway (Older, smaller and cheaper 5th wheel than originally planned). We will be heading south (Arcadia,FL) for the winter, around Dec. 5th. Needless to say we are excited, and glad to be finally becoming a "rolling" member of this great RV-Dreams family of Howard and Linda's.

Well get on down here, we are in Avon Park and the weather is fine.  We get down to the Arcadia once or twice a winter and it is a nice place to be.

First of all, welcome to the forum, and welcome to the full-timing lifestyle.biggrin

I don't blame you at all for not wanting to wait any longer. Time just flies by and you never know what tomorrow will bring.

Like Serengeti said, "Get on down here", and join us in this nice warm weather. We're in Orange City, and they're forecasting 75 degrees today. I'm sure it'll be even warmer down in Arcadia.

Travel safe,

Jim

We will be in Fort Myers starting December 16th. Arcadia is not that far.

Thanks you'all. We have many friends in the Ft. Myers area, and visit the Punta Gorda Speedway everytime our close friend Doug Moff (No. 46, late model) races there.

By the way "Coyatee" is not a mis-spelled animal, it was a Cherokee village in east TN.

Where in E. TN are you?  My husband's hometown is LaFollette and we lived in Knoxville 1986-1998.  Wayne was a dentist at UT Hospital for 15 years.  Congratulations on your decision to get on out there and live the life you really want.  We're waiting for our house in AL on Smith Lake to sell and then we're outta here.  We found a 2005 40' Phaeton just 12 miles away that looks like new, is a fantastic price, and that I would love, but can't do it until we sell the house.  I think I need to order one of those Saint statues and bury it by the For Sale sign!

Good luck in your adventures and have fun!!!

Congratulations on taking the plunge...the water's fine!  I hope you enjoy your new lifestyle as much as everyone else we know (including ourselves) does.  Enjoy sunny Florida and escape any winter cold weather.  Have fun!!

Caseydee....we DID get one of those St. Joseph statues, buried it and sold our house within 3 months in a bad market (2008).  Try it!

We know UT quite well (Wife had cancer operation there, Muskie fishing friends work there, and bluegrass picking friends go there).
We have a home for sale in Tellico Village, near Lenoir City (Loudon address). The village is on Tellico Lake. We have loved our 8 yrs here, but it is time to head out.  Good luck on your house sale.

Congratulations !!!!  We love the Tellico Plains area.  We were there on vacation once and even talked about moving there.  We hope to spend some time there once we are fulltime and mobile.  We currently live in a stix and briks Pinellas Park, Florida and are counting the months till it is our time.   Hope your trip to Florida is a great one.

P.S.  You have a beautiful dog !!!!!

Welcome and congratulations!    You are really close and I am really jealous!  Think about those of us who are stuck in a sticks-n-bricks in the cold when you are rolling into sunny Florida!  smile  I'm in northwest Alabama and it is pretty chilly here today.   I hope you have a safe trip.

Kerri, thanks and you will find a way. We found the 5ver in Winchester, TN, which is even closer to you. BTW my brother designed the gate at the Red Stone arsenal in Huntsville, many years ago.

Oh that is so cool!  I've driven through there many times... My Daddy was an Ed Spec/Civ Off at Redstone until his death....

It is 29 here this morning... Want to adopt an Alabama lady and her little girl before you start out on your trip to Florida?? smile

So glad to know that someone else is getting to follow their "RV-Dreams"!   Me next, me next....wink
