Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Rod - what do you do in Galveston? Had we retired as planned on Sept 30 instead of having to wait until January 7, we were committed to do Hurricane Ike relief work there starting Jan 3 with NOMADS. We still will get there someday. Probably in March.
Right now we're at Sherkston, Ontario which is between Fort Erie and Port Colborne and across from Buffalo, NY. Sometime in the next two weeks we'll be crossing the border into the US, stopping in Ohio for a few days to see the kids and grandkids and then aiming ourselves toward the Texas Coastal Bend for most of the winter. The idea of going to Florida for March has also been tossed around but still in the thought processes.
Sherri and I are in Swee****er Texas, Panhandle Plains...cool temps and rain. We head East from here to Aledo and then to Hickory Creek on Lake Lewisville to meet up with John and Bridget Hatch. More Dreamer fun before we head further East to Forney Texas for a week stay there.

A bit of early snow and below freezing temps chased me out of the Colorado mtns and now I'm down at my southern NM ranch sweating and roasting in a heat wave.
We are in Clarksville Tennessee but hooking up in the AM and going back to homebase (The view). In two weeks we will be going to Gulf Shores for the winter. However we may leave early due to Global warming or climate change what ever they are calling it today. GBY....

We are stuck here in Southwest Illinois, not too far from St. Louis, MO, until DW (Georgia) retires or we figure out how to keep medical insurance on me. Then it's full-time one way or another :)
Cindy and I are headed down to Lake Texana for a few days.
Peaceful quiet and lots of wildlife.
The weather is supposed to be IDEAL.
This will be our 1st pull with the new truck.
Ken
Ken, we've been camping there for 25 years and love it. We started out at the State Park and last year discovered Brackenridge right across the road. The site we had was huge and right on the water (#53 or #58) and the grounds are very well maintained, great biking trails too. If you are staying at the State Park go across the road, get a day pass and check it out.
Both are great camping areas and you will find yourself stopping dead in your tracks to let a dozen or more deer pass in front of you. Tons of wildlife there.
Watch out for coons in the dumpsters, my husband got a surprise one morning when one jumped out at him when he went to put the trash in. LOLOLOLOL

Heading up to Door County, WI next week for one last look at the fall colors and to pack up our rig from it's summer locale. Although we aren't full timers yet, we did spend a lot of time in Door County this summer enjoying our rig and the great outdoors. It will be going in for some warranty work, then mid-December we'll be on our way to Mesa, AZ for the majority of the winter. If anyone is staying at Mesa Spirit RV Jan - March let us know!
Spirit and I are on the Flats in Big Bend Valley, about 60 miles South of Alpine, 20 miles North of Terlingua. Nearest neighbor about 4 miles away... waaaaaaaaaay off the main roads for a while. Base Camp for the winter and taking small trips with the tent. Pleanty of room here... cheap land... Paradise! Be well... Ara & Spirit
We're in North Carolina now and heading to Florida for the winter. Then, we're heading for South Carolina for the 2010 RV Dreams Rally!!!!
Hope to see many of you there,
Jim

We are currently back in Weslaco Texas. We have great news to report. Grandpa has decided that he will move into an indendent living/assisted living/nursing home combination facility. He chose the one bedroom which gives him lots of room. He was swayed by the 5 to 1 ratio of ladies to gents. Once a Romeo, always a Romeo I guess!
We are gonna be very busy for the next couple of weeks (hopefully not months!) moving him, getting the mobile home ready to show, and we have actually had a showing this a.m. They appear to be very interested! Maybe this will be a swift and easy transition. We will be having some renovations done to the MH (new lcd tv, flooring and cabinetry/desk).
I am going to have to resurrect my blog so everyone can read what is happening!
