Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I have had my Auto/RV/Motorcycle insurance with Geico for the past 28 years and I have tried to insure my house with them in the past but Traveler's is their underwriter for homeowners and they are too high. So, I am not able to take advantage of the Auto/Home (muti-policy discount) through Geico. I have never been involved in an accident or filed a claim on my home or vehicles.... Also have good credit and a clean driving record, I haven't had a ticket in 20+ years (knock on wood ).
I would like to have all of my insurance through one company but I can't find anyone that will insure everything @ a reasonable premium. I use Allstate for my home & boat, Geico has my cars, rv, & motorcycle. I found a Met Life agent near or home in AZ that will take care of my house, rv, & cars and his yearly quote was $500 less than what I am paying now. He said that he would need to write a separate policy (Progressive) for the boat & motorcycle. I don't know anything about Met Life but I have googled them and they are an A+ company that has been in business since the late 1800's. I am scared that I may be getting sucked in with teaser rates and my premiums will go through the roof at renewal. Have any of you dealt with this company? Any advice would be appreciated.

I followed Howards advice and called Miller Insurance. Saved me a bunch of money on the coach and jeep. I don't know if they do s&b but they are easy to work with, and they will get you the best deal for your money.

I have added Miller Insurance to my "get a quote list." Thanks NorCal!
Might consider Farm Bureau...you'll have an annual membership fee (usually around $30 a year) but they'll save you lots...plus your Farm Bureau card will get you various kinds of discounts...at hotels and businesses... My parents use the Hartford and they are reasonable. Just gotta check around...alot depends upon your area and your driving history etc... Good Luck!

We had our home and auto insurance for years with AAA. Always good rates and service. However, we are in the process of preparing to retire, travel and we live in our fiver. We are selling our house to daughter and husband. Once she sells her condo they will purchase the house. She has the condo rented out and is the living in the house.
A few months ago I called AAA about our homeowners as daughter has insured contents of house (mostly hers). I wanted to just insure the house. To my shock they dropped our coverage when I told them the circumstances. They said the house is now a rental even though it is still our legal residence and it is family living in it. They found us coverage through another carrier - went from about $800 a year to $2,200!!!! WOW!
So I shopped and every carrier told me the same thing. I did find the cheapest at $1,600 - double our old premium. They seem to get you at every turn.
I want to thank everyone for the info. I ended up going through Met-Life for my RV, Auto, & House...the motorcycle and boat are now through Progressive. My total savings for yearly premiums--$792.00 !!!! I
I have never filed a claim and we have had a safe driving discount for 15 + years. Yet Geico was still $400.00 more per year but I guess they have to pay for those silly lizards (Gecko) ads. I found out the Insurance cost is determined by your age, level of education, claims history, employment, credit, etc. I also found out that glass repair or replacement hurts your insurance score...if you use it.
I do not have to think about insurance for 12 months now.
