Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
My questions are for the folks with dentures. If this is too personal to share here on the forum, feel free to private message me...I would appreciate any and all information.
I currently have all my teeth however, many have had root canals & crowns over the years. I'm now at a point where the remaining are VERY sensitive and are slowly deteriorating. I'm tired of spending the money on rc's & crowns and also sick over the constant discomfort.
I'm really leaning towards ending all the frustration and going with dentures. Please inform me of pro's and con's, would you recommend this, procedure for doing this and now that you have them...is your life better?
Again, if this is too personal please message me and I will keep everything private.
I had to get Dentures 20 years ago at age 40 and for me it has been a positive experience. A friend of mine also got them not to long ago and has not been a good deal for him. The difference is the fact I used a well known Dental office in my home town,he used one of those "discount" places. I guess what I am saying is you get what you pay for.

Thanks Racerguy, do you think he's having issues because he just needs them adjusted?
I've know a few folks who have got them over the years and they all say they're fine...after a bit you adjust to wearing them.
I guess the biggest fear is just doing it and of course once you do, you can't go back, lol.
I just remember growing up, dentists put such a stigma on them and how you should do whatever to keep your own teeth but it seems to me it's not really as big a deal. Keeping my own would just mean more anxiety, constant trips to the chair, and more $$$.
I can tell you that partial's are a p.i.a. When it got to be time for me my dentist started yanking everything out planning on giving me full dentures. I stopped him and made him give me partials. Big mistake from what I can gather from others and my own experience.
I am a dental hygienist and just want you to be aware that you will be trading one set of problems for another. Dentures need adjustments and relines as the ridge changes and some people never get a good fit and wear them in their pocket more than their mouth. Lower denture pose the most difficult challange. If you go there I recommend getting a couple implants to anchor the denture and maintain the bone of the ridge. Without that over the years the lower ridge resorbs and then you have nothing to help hold the denture in. It is a difficult decision and you are right there is no going back once you decide to remove those teeth.
