Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hello: I'm a newbie to the forums. DH and I are fulltimers now for 13 months. Homebase is in Tumwater, WA. We have 2 kids, 2 grandkids, and 1 Schnauzer. We love the RV lifestyle, especially fulltiming. I enjoy reading, cooking, sightseeing, scrapbooking, and blogging. One favorite place to visit is Pimso Beach, CA and we try to get there at least once a year for several weeks.
You are very close to home for me since I grew up in Olympia and the park you favor is just a short distance from where my mother lives off Trosper Road. I should drive through the park you hang out in Tumwater again, since last time I felt like it was not the kind of place I would camp.
(We are in Ohio right now and won't be back to see my mother until May.)

Hi: This park isn't the greatest, that's for sure. I'm thinking it hasn't changed much since you've last seen it. New owners have made some improvements which have helped. The main attraction for us is that it is only 2 miles from where both our kids live. The rent is super cheap....$395 per month, free utilities. We feel safe here and that is the main thing given the proximity to our family.
Where in Ohio? Zanesville for another day and then Carrolton (A1-Twin Valley CG) for the weekend with relatives and that is close to Wintersville. I suspect our time will get taken up mostly by the relatives, but who knows. After Carrolton we will work our way to Celina for the Gypsy Journal Rally, which is close to Indiana.

Thank you so much for the welcome! I'm enjoying the forum site very much. I hope everyone will check out my 2 blogs and learn more about me and the DH. I've been looking at the different blog sites mentioned in these forums....very interesting.
I may be a little late but I have to say hello. Welcome to our forum...Sherri and I love to see new members come on board. Don't become strangers here...we need all the input we can get.
Welcome to a great forum. I don't post often but I do read the forum everyday, sometimes several times a day. I dream of becoming a fulltime RVer but the current econimc situation is preventing that from happening any time soon. I live off of Delphi Road not to far from you. I have read your blog and find that you have a great out look on your life style maybe we can get togethor some time at McDonalds for a cup of coffee, I would love to hear about your transitation to full time. Have a good day. Pam

Hi OlyWA....Good to "meet" you, too.
It would be nice to get together at some point for a cup of coffee. I don't know if I want to put my e-mail address on the forums yet, but we could set something up via this forum. If we meet we can exchange e-mail addresses if you'd like. I hope you can realize your dream of full-time RV living in the future.
I'm glad you found my blogs and enjoyed the RV one so much. I try to be informative without being "preachy" or one sided on our point of view.
Hey Tum and welcome... I may pick your brain at some point as the hubby and I are thinking about moving to your area...

Hello M'cat
Feel free to ask any questions you'd like. This part of Washington state is really wonderful. We enjoy traveling so much with our RV that it just made sense for us to sell our home here and return from time to time to live by family...this time in our RV so we can drive away again!
Margie, Welcome y'all. It is good to see fulltimers joining the forum. There is a great friendly group of people here. We have been fulltiming for over 2 yrs and on the road for 16 months. We plan to be in Wa./Or. next summer and could use advise as to which areas are cool in June and July. I hear the eastern side of the mountains get hot. Is that correct? We hope you enjoy this lifestyle as much as we do

Thanks for the welcome. I'm still trying to figure out the best settings for my profile and everything. I'm technically challenged. We, too, love the full time lifestyle and hope to do it for many, many more years.
Oregon coast is to die for and you should really see that next summer.
You have heard correctly, the eastern part of WA can be very hot during the summer months. Once you cross over those mountains going from west to east you can feel the difference. Tumwater (were we are currently staying) is about 60 miles south of Seattle. It is normally warm, but not real hot during June/July. This year was the exception and they saw temps in the high 90's and even up to 100 degrees. Dosen't usually happen though. Luckily, we were gone this summer and missed all that heat. The Olympia/Tumwater area is very nice during summer. There are a couple of nice campgrounds right in Olympia (Good Sam parks). The Olympic Peninsula is a great place to be during the summer. Towns like Port Angeles, Sequim, Port Townsend are right by the water and nice. North of Seattle is great for visiting the San Juan Islands. Plus, you are a short distance to Vancouver, Canada. Hope this helps. I think I'm set up for private messages now, if you need more info.
