Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hi. My name is Tonya and my hubby is Zach. My hubby is in the USAF and we have two kids. We are trading our house and all that comes with it and going to live a simpler life in the RV. Right now we live in Florida, but as soon as we order the RV and trade the house, we are going to put in for a transfer. We are looking at northern CA.
My 8 year old son doesn't live with us permanently, so the only child we have at home all the time is our 3 year old daughter. She is autistic and right now goes to Pre-K ESE, but when we move I will be homeschooling her.
We have never had an RV before, so this is all a big new adventure for us. I'm sure we will be needing your help. But we only get one life and we are tired of talking about the "wouldn't it be nice" and finally just do it. If this is the only chance we get to raise our kids we want to do it the way we want, not the way the world thinks we're supposed to do it.
Lots of friendly people here, so go ahead and ask those questions. There are no dumb questions on this site.
Jim

We should be at Beale by March or April...if you have any questions just drop me a line. FWIW, Beale does not have a trailer park anymore, closed it a few years back. They do have a FamCamp but do not allow long term residents. Welcome to the forum.

wow, proud of you for "figuring it out" while you are so young! my husband is military (army) as well, heading to afghanistan in a few months. we are close to retirement age, plan on hitting the road fulltime in 3 years...cannot wait! best of luck to you
Welcome to the forum and RV-Dreams. We should be on the road by March 2010 and maybe meet up with you at the military bases. We're retired Airforce after 26 years.

I am on the government payroll...SS and DAV...and not allowed to stay on the bases but I hope we will meet you out in the civilian world. Wish you all the luck in the world...stay tuned here and keep us up to date on your progress.
I wanted to thank everyone for the warm welcomes. We've been busy getting things done so we can buy the RV as soon as the house sells, and I've been reading so many posts on this site.
We had our first garage sale and made a little over $200, and that was just off of junk. We haven't started selling our actual things we use all the time yet.
Thanks again for all the help we've gotten from all of you. Your posts have helped show us that we are making the right decision even when some people question us.
