Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Greetings to all. I have been lurking on this site (and several others) for a few years. I joined a few rv forums a year or so ago, but dropped off when the dream of travel looked bleak and not in our future. Happily, our future changed again in the past two months and we are back looking to fulltime at retirement in Sep 2011.
We are Ed and Lessie from New Jersey, (transplants from Oklahoma). Retired, first, from the Air Force, hubby is looking to retire (again) in 2011 from second career. Of our three children, we have one still in the nest, just graduated from high school and starting in a local art school this fall. Our oldest, a son, is active Air Force Reserve, married and living in Florida. Our middle child, a daughter, married, living in Deleware. Both couples have each given us a wonderful grandson. Our logic is that our youngest will be in her third year of school and moved out or ready to move out from the family nest by Sep 2011.
We love to travel and now want to see what is in our own (U.S.) backyard. Couple that with being tired of working to pay high property tax, backpain to upkeep an acre of a yard, high auto insurance, and, in general, the rat race. Ending in the decision --- sell out and hit the road and enjoy life.
No RV yet, but looking, researching and planning. Been researching for three years. Lots of RV shows. Have an idea of what we want in a 5er, and of course, a truck with all (most of) the bells and whistles for the hubby. Have already chosen the name of TARDIS for the 5er. From the British tv show 'Doctor Who'.
Have enjoyed reading and learning from all in this forum. Looking forward to more reading and learning, as well as getting my feet wet by jumping in to the dicussions and chats.

Welcome to a unique family! Having been a lurker for more than a year, you more than likely already know that in here there are questions, some hard - some not, but all get friendly and useful answers.
There are many here who have spectacular fun, but never at anyone's expense. Now don't you feel better dusting off the lurker label and letting us get to know yet another family member?
Best part of the deal is you do not get a membership card you have to present at the door everytime you visit!
Again, WELCOME!
Charles

My thanks to you all for your welcome. I have had an interesting beginning in my research for fulltiming. And I know we have a whole lot more before we can put one tire on the road. Just started with the basics this week. The Budget!! Download forms to see where the money goes. Not fun, but useful.

We're in the same situation. No RV yet, and about 2012 before we have it. Doing the research now and fell in love with this community also. Nice to meet you.
