Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hello everyone -- I am Robin and my husband Gerry and I are finally getting to follow our dream. Every since our honeymoon 32 years ago in a Minnie Winnie, we have wanted to travel fulltime. Well, the time has come. We are planning on selling our house, upgrading our camper and hitting the road.
I have been reading anything and everything I can about fulltiming, the ups, the downs and most especially about traveling with pets. Yes, the 3 cats will be going with us, as will 2 guinea pigs. LOL Certifiable, I know it.
For years, we traveled via motorcycle and loved it. But, when we adopted our oldest granddaughter 12 years ago, traveling stopped. Except to Rabbit and Cavy Shows -- that is a whole other story.
Now that we are officially emptynesters -- we are enjoying our time together. Gerry retired almost 6 years ago and has worked part-time since then. I had different jobs and have decided that sorting out the house and getting ready to sell was more important, so am only working at home.
We currently have a 2007 Dodge Ram Diesel Quad Cab and pull a 2004 Jayco Eagle 5th Wheel. We do know, that the Eagle will not be quite big enough for us to live in, so are looking at other models. Gerry isn't too sure about traveling with cats, but I am confident we can do it.
We are really excited about all of this, I haven't seen Gerry as animated about anything in a long time. We need this and want this. And most of all, we are looking forward to meeting new people and making new friends.

Now is the time to get the cats used to traveling. We took the cats out for short trips getting them used to the driving the setup and tear down.
At first they fussed a bit but once they figured out it wasn't a trip to the vet they settled down. The first couple of trips the Brideandjoy was afraid they wouldn't adjust we kept taking them.
After three trips they got the hang of it.
Now the grey cat just gets into her carrier when we're getting ready to head out to the next camp ground. The tabby acts like it's about time we move after a week ten days in the same campground.
Many people travel with cats, in fact just had RVers next to us with a cat that they brought outside on a leash.
They stayed outside with it, but the cat seemed perfectly content to be tied to the picnic table.
