Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Howdy from Dan and Kati

Hi all. Just wanted to say hello from SW Kansas. We are just getting started on our way to becoming full time RV'ers. We have decided on a diesel pusher so we can toe our jeep. We enjoy off roading and seeing the sights. My favorite hobby is fly fishing and Kati somtimes like's sewing and interior decorting. We intend to workamp a good part of the year and have found this site to be extremly helpful and informative toward that end. That's it for now. Ya'll take care. Dan and Kati.

Hello Dan and Kati...It is so good to have new folks get on board here at the Dreamers Forum. We like new folks with new ideas and new questions to keep us all honest. We hope to hear from you often and maybe we will meet somewhere on the road.

Welcome to the group Dan and Kati. My goal is to become a full timer myself and work at different National parks. I will also add you will not find a group of people more knowledgeble than the members here at RV-Dreams.

Welcome!!  Best wishes for great pleasure and fulfillment in your new adventure!

I have been a longtime reader of Howard & Linda's Journal, but a rare user of the forum, but am going back now and devouring past forum postings.

And, we are now getting serious about buying a motorhome (have made that decision vs a fifth wheel), and have just about decided on a diesel pusher.

I say all that to say I hope you will share your process in choosing and buying  your diesel pusher.  I "need" the help!!

Bob

Welcome To the friendliest forum on the web Dan and Kati. I can see why you post as Flatland Dan as we lived in SW Kansas for 40 years before moving to Eastern Kansas.
Best wishes on getting things in order so you can hit the road. Hopefully we will meet you on the road somewhere.

Welcome Dan and Kati:

Having my mother and sister living in Liberal, I really know why you call yourself "FlatlandDan."

Welcome to the Forum and good luck with the DP and Wrangler. Ours have served us well and we have greatly enjoyed 4-wheelin in the Jeep. Come on along with all of us in this great adventure. You will probably not be sorry.

Dan----We certainly were neighbors, as I worked and lived at Southern Star Compressor station next door to you for 12 years before bidding to Garnett Ks. I was raised and lived in the Ulysses area for 40 years. I even lived in Satanta for 3 years and owned the bar and barbershop before going to work for Southern Star.
Good luck on finding a diesel pusher and your journey to becoming fulltimers.

Dan and Kati,
Welcome to the best forum out there. The folks here are so knowledgeable and willing to help.
We also have a DP and this weekend we have been looking at a 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. We have had it this weekend to test drive and have fallen in love with it. It has the hard top as well as the soft top. We would love to have the ability to go off road when we begin fulltiming. We have never owned a Jeep before so maybe you could tell us things about the Jeep and off roading that we don't know.

Gummy,
I saw where you also have a Jeep!! We might ask you a few questions as well.

My jeep is pretty much stock just now but still delivers alot of fun. I have done some miner hill climbing and alot of playing in the mud with this one. I intend to upgrade just a bit in the near future and the next one will be set up to handle upto a class 4 trail. (minor rock crawling, steep mountain trails and so on). I will be installing a 3" lift kit and large off road tires as well as a winch. I also like the unlimited do to its longer wheel base but want to be sure I can still go anywhere with it. Perhaps we should start a Jeep string in the forum where all the jeepers can gain insight.

Hey Dan,
I replied to the new thread about starting an off road group not realizing it was you. Oh well, sometimes I don't add 2 plus 2 very well.
We won't be doing the serious off road that you are talking about but wish to be able to travel some trails that our back and knees might not make. Mike loves photography and we both want to get more involved with geocaching. With that said, we still have lots to learn about our Jeep.
Again, a big welcome!!
