Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I will start full-timing in July of 2010. I preparation for this I'd like to set up a web site/blog but don't know how to go about it. What software do people use. I know some people make some money from their site, how do I find out about this (including Tioga and George and RV-Dreams). Can someone point me in the right direction to learn more? Thanks.
Howard has all this info out on his main site www.RV-Dreams.com. Check it out....
I am sure Howard still uses www.SiteBuilder.com for his site and www.TypePad.com for his blog. SiteBuilder has bunches of tools to market/publish a web site in their package w/o learning much web at all.
I use www.GoDaddy.com for both my site and blogging tools. GoDaddy, forgive their name, is the largest domain registrar and soon to be the largest hosting service in the world. They have some development tools, but, you'll need to learn just a little web stuff.

I use blogspot now, but I always wish I had looked deeper into MyTripJournal before actually setting up my blog. I plan to eventually switch, but worry that I will probably lose some readers when I do.

My websites are hosted by E-Rice.net webservers. The price is good, and it allows me to use my own blog software from my iMac. They provide minimal support and do not backup anything, and you basically set it up yourself, but the price is decent.
For anyone setting up a website, I recommend not using your webhost for your domain registration. If that company goes under you could loose your domainname and site at the same time. Just a word of caution...
