Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Does anyone have any experience with On the Road Emergency Medical Assistance? Today I received from the Good Sam Club a letter telling all the benefits of belonging to their Emergency Assistance Plus travellers plan. It basically provides for transportation for your family to a hospital, then home and arranges for the delivery of our camping RV to your home, emergency medical transport via helicopter , if needed, anytime a medical emergency may occur on the road whether you are in your RV or just travelling in your car. This sounds very interesting, especially considering they only want $99.00 a year for the service...Anyone have any feedback on such a plan? Thanks, Marty
We bought the coverage because it is very affordable, but fortunately have not had to use it. The only negative I have found is that they will return you to your "home", which is the city/state that is on your drivers license. Since we established residency in South Dakota as fulltimers, that is where they would send us. However, our true home is Salt Lake City. I don't know how well they would work with us if the need should arise.
I would look carefully at SkyMed and MASA. COmpare their features to the Good Sam offering. You get what you pay for. You may not need all the features and benefits of some of the plans, but you should be aware of the other offerings.

I have heard good things about SkyMed as well this coverage sound similiar. Do you know if this is something offered by Good Sam Club and underwritten by a company such as Skymed? Should you decide to purchase make sure you have a time period for a "free look" (ie ten days). This will provide you time to read the outline of coverage. If you aren't satisfied you get a full refund. If the outline has everything you mentioned it sounds like a good deal.

I appreciate all of your responses on this subject. This "deal" was from The Good Sam Club and I don't believe it was a part of SkyMed. Being associated with Good Sam it should be reputable. Be Safe Out There....Marty
