Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
As we get ready for our new full time adventure, we are trying to decide what all we need with us! My husband has had lots of fun at Sears, while I have been enjoying Walmart and kitchen stores. However, we are not sure about the plumbing...what supplies and tools should we take with us? We will have lots of duct tape, electricians tape, and plumbers tape! thanks, Loralie

I carry a selection of hose clamps, faucet washers, some lengths of tubing and fittings to match what is in the RV for repairs.
You'll need a repair kit for your fresh water hose just in case it springs a leak or is cut by an RV park maintenance worker using a weed wacker (happened at two different parks).
I also carry an extra sewer hose and spare connectors and caps, they come in handy for repairs and the times you need to add on to reach the sewer connection at some parks.
I have some epoxy putty just in case a holding tank or fresh water tank springs a leak. Never had to use it, but it needs to be refreshed every so often before it goes bad. Can be used to repair lots of stuff, even coffee cup handles.
I've started carrying a 2 X 2 foot piece of heavy PVC plastic sheeting, like is used for shower pans (you can get it at a home improvement store) and gorilla tape. A guy pulled into an RV park with damage to his blackwater dump valve from a tire that had come apart. He had taken a piece of this sheeting and had covered the damaged tank with it using gorilla tape to hold it in place, he did this to prevent spillage and smells until the tank could be repaired a couple of days later. This sheeting can be used to do temporary repairs on damage to roofs,siding or ??? Makes a nice water proof repair.
