Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hi my name is Vernon Loud. I full time RV with my wife, 4 kids, 3 dogs and 1 hamster. Discovery's TLC channel has been filming us traveling full-time across America for the last year.
Our series titled SIX FOR THE ROAD starts the 29th of October 2008 at 10/9c. We want this to be a big success so the non-RVing people can better understand how great it is to RV.
Please visit our website at www.ourloudfamily.com and sign in to get the latest updates on the show.
Oh yes the "Are we there yet?" question. It is always lurking. I have greatly enjoyed having the 3rd row seating added onto my Dodge truck. This has allowed me to set the younger kids even further away from me so i don't have to listen to that question as it lurks up into converstation.
The kids are pretty good about enjoying the drive as much as enjoying the places we stop. But the long drive from Massachussetts to Texas, 2300 miles in 2.5 days was enough to do us all in.
We are enjoying not doing much driving right now.
Thanks for the support on teh tv show. Please help get the word out to all your friends and family.
Hello to TheLoudFamily. Welcome to the best forum. I'm so glad you told us about your up coming show. I wish there was more RV shows. I really miss the RV Today Show. Will your show be on every week on Wednesdays?
We are looking forward to watching it.

They will be airing 4 episodes and then checking to see if it was recieved well. Then they will either continue on with all the other episodes we have already filmed and start filming more or simply say thanks for the fun now go away.
It really has been a blast filming with the production company Figure 8 Films. They are very good at what they do and have been very respectful of our lifestyle and have worked hard to try to blend into the small space alotted inside our RV.
We will be on the TODAY show now on the 29th at 9am eastern. This is going to be pretty exciting as they are asking us to drive our 43 foot rig downtown to the Rockefeller Plaza for a prop in the TODAY show. Kinda scary.
My wife and I also watched your show, very real stuff, loved it. Sounds like you need to avoid "boondocking" though.

We were hoping to see the show, but can't find it listed either on TLC.com or anywhere in the TLC schedules on our DVR (TimeWarner). I've been searching the internet for a good while now, and turned up no videos on it either. Sounds like it wasn't shown in all parts of the country?
This is Vernon Loud. The previous 2 episodes had to compete with teh World Series. That was a tough competitor. This weeks shows would have been competing with the post-election media coverage. TLC chose to postpone episodes 3 and 4 for a different air date. You can get immediate updates at our website www.ourloudfamily.com . I will also try to remember to post it here. I have so many sites i should keep updated that it is much easier on me if you visit ours to get the latest updates.
We had a great Halloween in Salem, MA. The kids loved it.
Vernon, I had your show programmed to record in my DVR, even after your post above. A show about a family with 16 children was on in that time slot. I sure hope the producers aren't pulling your chain about rescheduling, I would enjoy seeing the other episodes.....

All we can do is hope that is not the case. But if you guys are up for helping out a bit, the more emails the TLC and production company gets the better they will understand how the show was recieved. This is the best thing that you could do to help out. You can email TLC at viewer_relations@discovery.com and put six for the road in the title. You can email the production company at viewermail@figure8films.tv who will be sure to get all recieved mail to TLC also.
We had a great time filming the shows and an experience that was very unique regardless of where it goes from here. But the prospect of sharing this life with America was exciting and we hope it can continue.
Thanks again and if anyone knows of great places in Maine, New Hampshire, or Connecticut please let us know. We will be trying to make day trips in to the southern parts of these states.
Thanks, Vernon

I saw the show and got to say it showed some of the downside as well as the positives to this lifestyle...but, I am still more than ever determined to experience it. If you guys can do it with 4 kids, 3 dogs and a hamster I am sure I can manage with 3 Chihuahuas and a claustrophobic BF.
I watched the 4 epsiodes over the last 2 weeks. Definately a crowded RV. The new rig you bought looks much more spacious and built to your needs. The major issue is it being way overweight for your tow rig. Even if you lost the 3000lbs as you were trying on the show will that put you at max weight for the truck? This is why I'm looking into a converted HDT as a tow rig. No worrys about weight or safety, and they'll literally last a lifetime with proper maintenance. Nice show though. Hope to see more. Let us know if they will be producing more next season. Thanks.
Thanks for the comments. We had a great time filming our journeys for the show. We are getting ready to head to the West coast after Christmas.
We have shed alot of weight in the RV and also done over 10K in modifications to the truck to help it pull. We looked into the freightliner rigs but to get teh seating we need it would start at 120K. I would prefer to go another route. Maybe a class A toyhauler when the time comes.
If you guys could send an email to the network to let know what you thought about the show good or bad, it would be very helpful.

Are they going to have some RR of this show. I just tuned into this topic on the forum and have not seen the show. If it is scheduled to air again please let me know.
The show just aired last Tuesday from 08:00p-09:00p and last night at the same times (4 episodes). I asked Vernon in another post to let us know if they will be airing any more episodes.
